The vibration of a certain type of high-speed EMU traction converter and its internal suspension vibration isolator were studied, aiming at the high frequency vibration on the EMU vehicle floor. Loading and workshop vibration tests were carried out, theoretical and experimental analyses were performed to evaluate the vibration characteristics of the traction converter and the vibration isolation performance of the isolator mounted between transformer and converter cabinet. A method to reduce the vibration of this type of converter was proposed by optimizing the parameters of the isolator. A comparative simulation analysis on the isolation effects before and after optimization was carried out by using finite element and multi-body dynamics softwares. The results indicate that by optimizing the parameters of vibration isolator, the vibration of this type of traction converter can be significantly reduced and resonance does not occur. © 2017, Editorial Office of Journal of Vibration and Shock.
