In order to detect a mechanical type of structural failure of the circuit breaker, the characteristics of the circuit breaker mechanical vibration signal is analyzed in this paper. A combination of medium voltage circuit breaker based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD) amount of energy and support vector machine (SVM) theory vibration signal feature vector extraction and analysis of fault classification method is proposed. First, the vibration signal of the circuit breaker is decomposed by EMD, and then intrinsic mode function (IMF) is obtained. The total energy of each failure intrinsic mode function component obtained the method of discrete sampling points information which contains the main features. Using the amount of energy of IMF component as a feature vector, SVM and kernel function parameters and genetic algorithm optimization, the failure of the test sample signal as input feature vector into trained "BT-SVM" support vector machine classification mechanism for fault classification. The difference and fault type of vibration signals can be identified by this method through the experimental analysis.

This paper designs an intelligent measurement and control device based on multi-core microprocessor. Live display is used to replace PT as voltage measurement signal, and a new method for ground connection fault diagnosis is presented, which makes intelligent products low-cost and small. The device can automatically cut down and close off fault according to the threshold of failure set by system, at the same time, it can save the fault current waveform and record the message, then pass the message to the up system by RS485 and wireless. It achieves distribution grid firewall function and improves power supply stability and security.

Key technologies for intelligent integrated controller of circuit breaker are studied with regard to the characteristics of intelligent protection of circuit breaker. Focuses are laid on the inverse-time protection based on the principle of thermal resistance reduction and the boundary switch function for cutting off the terminal user in fault, and the relative techniques are discussed in detail. The theory of enhancing reliability of power distribution is introduced. Therefore, isolation of the user in fault and resumption of normal power supply in the non-fault section are realized by making use of temporal variation of opening and closing circuit breaker. The controller communicates with other protection devices or PCs through USB interface or industrial RS485 bus communication interface with protocol Modbus. In addition, GSM communication modules are used for ultra-remote control of opening and closing switch and timely feedback of fault information. The intelligent integrated controller of circuit breaker may provide a support to information networking and intelligent grid.
