This paper presents a reactive power optimization method considering seasonal load changing based on a two-year project. Data of lines, transformers and seasonal load were taken into account to create a simulation model. By taking the moment when the load is maximum in each season, flow of the distribution network was calculated. The calculation results were closer to the actual measurement results. Based on Genetic algorithm, four reactive compensation plan along with seasons were got. The paper got a best project Considerating the line losses, Voltage qualification rate and bus voltage Security. The best reactive power optimization result can significantly reduce the distribution network losses and improve voltage qualification rate. © 2012 IEEE.

A Web-based management system is developed, which combines the workflow engine JBPM (Java Business Process Management) and the power dispatch training together. The power dispatch training process is put forward and the implementation procedures of visualized management applying JBPM in training process are introduced. The features and rules of JBPM workflow engine are introduced and a three-layer system architecture is design. Different from traditional power dispatch training system, its business logic layer contains not only the conventional training business process but also the training workflow business process, and its data persistence layer has additional ontology-based multimedia library and process library to store process data and customize process. The training time based on rough set and the speciality distribution analysis are applied to comprehensively evaluate the training effectiveness.

The working process of a single-switch quadratic buck converter in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is analyzed in this paper. A nonlinear control method, pulse train (PT) control, is used to control the converter in DCM, its steady-state and transient response characteristics are analyzed. The converter with PT control simplifies the controller design, and enjoys a wider voltage conversion ratios especially the fast transient response. Therefore, the converter in this paper is suitable for low output voltage and fast transient response application when the input voltage is high, such as automotive power systems.
