Preparation methods and applications of nano-alumina in recent years are summarized. The preparation methods, mainly including gas phase method, liquid phase method and solid phase method etc, are reviewed. Applications of nano-alumina in ceramic material preparation, material surface modification, polymer modification, composite material preparation, and application of functional materials etc, are summarized. Constantly developing new technology and new methods of nano-alumina, is of great significance for the preparation of nano-alumina. The quality of the product are improved by expanding the application field of nano-alumina. Finally, the development directions of preparation technology and application field of nano-alumina are discussed. Source

The preparation methods of hexagonal boron nitride used commonly in China were introduced briefly. The impurities, particle morphology and crystallinity were tested by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP), X-ray diffraction, laser particle size analysis and specific surface area tester. The results indicated that the properties of hBN prepared by different methods had no obvious difference. Application of hexagonal boron nitride in synthesizing cubic boron nitride showed that although hBN from different preparation methods had some influence on the color and yield of CBN, they can be adjusted to meet the requirement of CBN synthesis in China, thus providing basic guarantee for cheap and fine products of CBN. By using the multi-element composite catalyst, millimeter cubic boron nitride was synthesized under the condition of high temperature (1300-1600 ℃) and high pressure (6-7 GPa) and then the morphology was observed by using SEM. The experimental results showed that the cubic boron nitride with different colors could be achieved repeatedly by the spontaneous nucleation of crystals, and the crystal was complete with smooth surface. © 2015, Zhengzhou Institute of Abrasives Grinding.
