Reasons for thermal cracks and corrosion resistance reduction in casting Cr-Ni dual-phase steel were analyzed, and the solutions were put forward. Through adjusting chemical compositions of the key elements, modifying process parameters or scheme, and optimizing austenite/ferrite phase ratio, the thermal cracks were reduced effectively and corrosion resistance was improved. The present situation and research progress of novolac resin for foundry were reviewed. The synthetic mechanism of novolac resin and the effect of different katalysts on synthesis were described, and the characteristics of novolac resin were introduced. The curing mechanism and the effect of different accelerants on curing rate were discussed. Modifications of novolac resin using polyamide, rubber, montmorillonite clay, and epoxy resin were summarized and the development directions of novolac resin were also prospected. Source

After analysis of oxidation kinetics, XRD and EDS, effect of aluminum on high temperature oxidation resistance of martensitic wear-resistant and heat-resistant steel was investigated. The results show that the oxidation weight gain gradually reduced with the increase of Al content. Samples containing 1.97% performed 0.0095 g·m-2·h-1 at 650°C and 0.0285 g·m-2·h-1 at 800°C in average oxidation rates, respectively. Oxidation products consisted of Al2O3, Cr2O3 and Fe (CrAl)2O3. Continuous and compacted oxide film formed when Al content was no less than 1.47% and consequently complete oxidation resistant was achieved at 650°C and 800°C. Source
