Downregulation of fructose-1,6-bisphosphatse-1 (FBP1) was observed in several cancers but its role in the lung cancer still remains unknown. We examined the cancer tissues from 140 patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer patients and found that the relative gene expression of FBP1 was significantly lower in lung cancer tissues as compared to incisal marginal tissues and normal tissues. The patients with higher level of FBP1 RNA expression have significantly longer disease free survival and overall survival as compared to the lower expression groups. There was a negative correlation with the level of FBP1 and recurrence of the lung cancer. © 2015 Informa Healthcare USA, Inc. Source
