A new oil-free-reciprocating piston air compressor was proposed. In the new type of compressor, an oscillating rod mechanism was used to ensure the connecting rod and piston working in closely straight reciprocating motion, so that the knocking and side pressure between the cylinder and the piston were decreased significantly. Compared with traditional compressor, the height of the new compressor is reduced by 24% while the noise and friction power are decreased by 7.4% and 1 dB (A) respectively and the seal ring lifetime is increased by about 10%. A mathematic model was established and the operation characteristics of the oscillating rod were analyzed. The theoretical studies show that the swing amplitude of the piston and seal ring are decreased significantly and the knocking strength and side pressure of cylinder wall are reduced because of the restriction of the oscillating rod, and that the rod's loading condition can be improved by setting the mechanism's quick-return trip correspondence to the compressor's suction stroke.

This paper proposed a new type of stationary blade air compressor, in which the compressor had a swing rotor and a stationary blade, and the blade's out-end was hermetically fastened to the cylinder's inner wall and the blade's two side-ends were hermetically fastened to the end-covers, so that the gas leaking paths from the compression chamber to the intake chamber were decreased and the leakage and friction occurred from these parts were eliminated effectively. The paper introduced the compressor's structure characteristics and working principles, and established a mathematical model for the compressor. The results show: the rotor's moment of inertia has severe effects on the friction and the wear in the sliding block-blade moving pairs. Thus it should be minimized in order to decrease the contact force between the sliding blocks and the blade. The axial clearances between the rotor and the covers affect the compressor's internal leaking loss sensitively, therefore the axial seals should be adopted in order to reduce the leakage at rotor's two axial ends.

This paper proposed a new type wobble piston oil-free air compressor, in which the side gap between piston and cylinder, formed by the piston swing to the cylinder, was used as inlet port for the compressor and the cavity of crankcase was used as the intake silencer. The new compressor has abandoned damageable part suction reed valve and expanded the volume of the intake muffler, so that the compressor has increased trouble-free working life by about 11% and reduced noise by about 5-6dB(A), compared with traditional models. The results show that when the cylinder offsets appropriately toward compression stroke side, and supplement the larger values of crank radius-connecting rod length ratio λ at the same time, suction can be realized through the side gap, thus ensuring the tightness of the seal ring toward the cylinder on the compression stroke and reducing the volume of the compressor. However, in order to decrease the impact strength of the piston to the cylinder, it is necessary to set a buffer device, and to strengthen the cooling and insulating for connecting rod to reduce the temperature rise of bearing.
