Taking the 2Dsingle turbulence column as an object of study, the turbulent flow field was simulated using 2d-LES model by CFD software and Lagrange method, while the trajectory of particles was calculated using discrete phase model(DPM). The law of particle coagulation was subsequently obtained through further calculation by Euler's method using population balance model(PBM), via the introduction of turbulence coagulation kernel function and piecewise kernel function by the user-defined functions (UDF). Results show that the turbulence column has a good vortex effect, which makes differently sized particles be mixed effectively. The effect of turbulence coagulation is remarkable, which has a positive correlation with the turbulence intensity and energy. ©, 2015, Shanghai Power Equipment Research Institute. To minimize the breakage of particles to the maximum extent is one of the keys during a preferable coagulation process of turbulence agglomeration technology. In this study, a two-dimensional single turbulence column was chosen as the research object, population balance model (PBM) in CFD software package was applied to simulate the breakage process of particles in turbulent flow. In CFD software package, the broken kernel function was set as constant, Laakkonen Breakage Kernels model and piecewise function respectively through UDF input. The main purpose of this work is to develop a particle breakage model and numerical simulation method which are suitable for engineering application, and finally make references for relevant experimental studies and engineering designs. ©, 2015, Science Press. Moving-electrode type electrostatic precipitator(MEEP) is a mainstream direction for a new ESP building or a renovation ESP as its low dust discharge, PM2.5 effectivity removed and without the problem of re-entrain. MEEP shows an economical effect on renovation project. The analysis about the lifespan and failure of the brush which is one of the moving parts in MEEP is important and urgent. A tester for failure form and lifespan of brush tester is developed after designing the test methods which includes a measuring tool. Then, it observes the microscopic structure of the brush andgives the preliminary conclusion after a test for the brush which is made by a domestic manufacturer. ©, 2015, Science Press.
