Financial contagion is tightly link to systematic stability of inter-firm network. Traditional methods and models are not very applicable to assess risk of financial contagion when complex network is involved. In this paper, authors propose a network model for inter-firm financial contagion, and suggest a risk assessment framework for regional industrial cluster that is a typical inter-firm network. Based on the network model, destruction loss of financial contagion can be estimated in the background of complex network. Robustness and fragility are two aspects stressed in risk assessment framework, in which the network model of contagion is used. A realistic example, Shaoxing industrial cluster from China, is assessed employing the network model and risk assessment framework. Results show the network model and risk assessment framework is fit to management practices. Therefore, our network model and risk assessment framework provides a new way for evaluating the risk of inter-firm financial contagion.

The feasibility of zinc oxide-catalyzed esterification of natural phytosterols with oleic acid was investigated well by a chemical process. The influences of various reaction parameters were evaluated. Basic solid zinc oxide is the most desirable catalyst due to its high selectivity (more than 90%), reusability, activity and less corrosivity, whereas sterol selectivity with other catalysts, such as H2SO4, NaHSO4 and NaOMe, did not exceed 80%. Further results showed that during zinc oxide-catalyzed synthesis, the nature of the acyl donor was of paramount importance with direct esterification with fatty acids, which gives better results with higher conversion rate selectivity and more mild reaction conditions than transesterification with methyl esters. The substrate molar ratio of 2:1 (oleic acid/phytosterol) was optimal. Other parameters such as optimal catalyst load (0.5%) and temperature (170 °C) showed a maximum production of steryl esters close to 98% after 8 h. It was also found that the amount of trans fatty acid formed in esterification was low, and the trans fatty acid content (%) in the phytosterol oleate ester fraction (3.26%) was much lower than that in free oleic oil (7.35%), which suggested that fatty acids in esters were more stable than free fatty acids regarding the combination with sterol. Immobilized ZnO could be a promising catalyst for replacing homogeneous and corrosive catalysts for esterification reactions of sterol. © 2010 AOCS.

Teaching method is the means and ways to implement the task of teaching. The purpose of this study is to select the appropriate teaching methods for a newly developed school-based curriculum Introduction to Zhejiang Business Culture. A validated and reliable self-administered questionnaire developed by the investigators was used in the study. 70 students from Zhejiang Economic & Trade Polytechnic were chosen as samples randomly. It was emphasized that participation was voluntary, and respondent confidentiality was assured. Results shows majority of students believe that visits to businesses, real circumstance training, and group discussion may work well. Questionnaire results also indicated that the examination form should be flexible. In stead of the solely writing examination, the performance of students in the discussions and training should be given full consideration and appropriate rating. Flexible teaching methods can stimulate student's passion for learning, develop their independent problem-solving skills, and markedly increase the student's satisfaction to the curriculum. ©2010 IEEE.

This paper explores support vector regression for parameter estimation application. It proposes a prediction model based on support vector regression, it uses mutual information formula to evaluate input variables, and then it uses prediction model to estimate parameters. Experimental result shows that the proposed support vector regression for parameter estimation application is effective, the precise improved significantly in test dataset, it is much better than other parameter estimation methods.

In data stream environment, the amount of data is large and the attributes is multidimensional which cause difficulty to data preprocessing. In order to solve these problems, a heuristic method for reduction of attributes (RSPCA) combining rough set theory (RS) with principal component analysis (PCA) is proposed. Firstly, PCA makes dimension reduction and removes noises for the data on sliding window of data stream. After that, decision-making information composed of principal component variables is got. Then, according to the characteristics of principal components that they are relative independence with each other, equivalence class is divided. On this basis, an attribute reduction algorithm of equivalence class of rough sets is proposed which uses significance of principle component variables as heuristic function. Finally, a minimum reduction of the decision attributes is obtained for follow-up mining. Through applying the RSPCA for data preprocessing of customer churn prediction in a business enterprise, the experiment results suggested that the method has superiority on disposing large quantity and multidimensional attribute of data.

The microstructure transitions of a food-grade U-type microemulsion system containing glycerol monolaurate and propionic acid at a 1:1 mass ratio as oil phase and Tween 80 as surfactant were investigated along a water dilution line at a ratio of 80:20 mass% surfactant/oil phase, based on a previously studied phase diagram. From the water thermal behaviours detected by differential scanning calorimetry, three structural regions are identified along the dilution line. In the first region, all water molecules are confined to the water core of the reverse micelles, leading to the formation of w/o microemulsion. As the water content increases, the water gains mobility, transforms into bicontinuous in the second region, and finally the microemulsion become o/w in the third region. The thermal transition points coincide with the structural phase transitions by electrical conductivity measurements, indicating that the structural transitions occur at 35 and 65 mass% of water along the dilution line. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. To make a research on the reliability of complex network system, firstly, the system operational reliability elements are chosen and the evaluation index system of the complex network system is established on the basis of the state of the system; And then the reliability entropy model based on the elements of the production process network system is developed upon the definition of the entropy theory and order degree; finally, the entropy weight theory is proposed to carry out the weight of the indicators due to the differences of the indicators. In empirical study, the chemical product MDI process network system is taken as an object and the entropy of model as well as the system reliability which are finally solved by using the evaluation index system and reliability entropy model. As a result, the application of this method indicates that the method is rational and efficient.
