To solve the difficulties in managing lifecycle information on varieties of products in the customer demand diversity and personalization environment, a product lifecycle information management approach based on product family is put forward. A 3-Dimention Product Family Lifecycle Information Integration Model (PFLI 2M) is proposed, which is composed of product main structure dimension, product dimension and lifecycle dimension, and the evolution process of the 3 dimensions is discussed. Based on the metadata method, unit information representation of PFLI 2M is studied from the physical layer, logic layer, expression layer and the application layer. A novel membrane distillation (MD) process enhanced by an asymmetric electric field was proposed. By applying an asymmetric electric field across a membrane with an increased field intensity in the direction of permeation, the permeation of water molecules through the membrane will be facilitated by the electric potential gradient, resulting in a higher flux than that achieved with the conventional process. The effectiveness of using asymmetric electric field to enhance mass transport was confirmed experimentally, and the effects of electric field parameters (including voltage, electrode distance, and electrode geometry) on water permeation were investigated. The novel process was tested for water desalination by MD and the results showed that both permeation flux and salt rejection were increased by the electric field. © 2014 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 60: 2307-2313, 2014 © 2014 American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin composite was made by pultrusion process, and then artificial accelerating UV aging test was taken. Bending strength test, impact strength test, dynamic mechanical thermal (DMA) analysis were applied to study the Influence of artificial accelerating UV aging on carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite. The results show that the bending strength and the impact strength of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite decayed with UV aging time, especially as an exponential function because of the influence on the outermost layer of the composite; glass transition temperature (Tg) increased relatively significant at the beginning of UV aging test, and then Tg showed no obvious change; within UV region, UV aging weaken the interface between carbon fiber and epoxy matrixto a certain extent, which gave reason to the decrease of the mechanical properties. Novel urchin-like CdS was synthesized via a facile solvothermal route without any assistant agent. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, high-resolution transmission electron, and photoluminescence spectrophotometer. Based on time-resolved experiments, a possible growth mechanism of 3D urchinlike CdS microspheres was initially proposed. Furthermore, morphology control of CdS was achieved by adjusting the quantity addition of TGA to obtain the 1D CdS nanowires. © Springer-Verlag 2012. Source
