The development and application of a novel clutch torsional damper with three-stage stiffness is presented. The results of vehicle test show that this type of clutch torsional damper has better vibration attenuation effects than the clutch torsional damper with two-stage stiffness, especially in low torque condition. In addition, its simple structure makes it more competitive in cost than other types of multi-stage damper.
