This paper presents a measuring installation and proposes a new method for experimental investigation of periodic transient mode of thermoelectric generator. It is shown that the use of periodic transient mode of thermoelectric generator allows increasing considerably the generated power as compared to steady-state mode. The value of optimal frequency of changing the external thermal fluxes is determined and a qualitative explanation of the effect of generated power increase is given. © Institute of Thermoelectricity, Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Education and Science, Ukraine, 2016.

A block diagram of model of non-linear and sharply variable load, in which the power part represents thyristor-controlled reactors connected in "triangle", is proposed and considered. This model is used in the stands for testing the dynamic reactive power compensation systems, intended mainly for working in networks with arc steel-smelting furnaces. The way of control, realized in this model, enables a power part to generate in a network a wide spectrum of even and odd current harmonics. The mathematical description of the physical processes in control circuits and in a power part of load model, is executed. Recommendations for the control of the nonlinear load in studies of static and dynamic characteristics compensation devices are given, and examples of simulation and evaluation of flicker in the network are provided.

The wear of multiphase composite materials is modeled as accumulation of microdamage in each component. The probability of damage in the composite components is assessed by solving a statistical boundary-value problem of the micromechanics of structurally inhomogeneous media subject to coupled processes of deformation and microdamage. The accumulation of microdamage is described by random functions whose statistical characteristics for each component are determined experimentally. The approach is validated by comparing the calculated and experimental wear of 15 multiphase composite materials. It is established that the content of fiber reinforcement, thermally expanded graphite, and boron nitride influences the wear of composite materials. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

The researches results of structure and properties of titanium alloys silicide coatings obtained in the conditions of self-propagating high-temperature various-rate heating of saturating mixture are presented. It is established that the increase in rate of heating of mixture from 5 to 15 ° C/min increases microhardness of silicide coatings by 1.2-1.4 times.

In this article is proposed the method of induction motor fault risk estimation with the account of induction motor technical condition and EPS subsystem regime. For the induction motor technical condition appreciation is developed the fuzzy model. This model uses the expert knowledge and parameters, which could be obtained without the switching off the motor from grid. For the definition of induction motor fault probability in the case of accident in EPS subsystem probabilistic statistical approach is used. Obtained results could be used for organization the effective risk-oriented management of EPS subsystem for providing its reliability.
