A procedure for the synthesis of mixed fullerenol (fullerenol-mix-ss) by direct one-stage oxidation of fullerene black was developed. Fullerenol-mix-ss was identified by electron and infrared spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The qualitative composition of fullerenol-mix-ss mixtures was determined. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

A new method for the passivation of the surface of infrared photodiodes operating at room temperature, spectral range 1.5-5.0 μm, by a mixture of higher fullerenes (h-f-mix) C76 + C78 + C84 + C90 + ⋯ was suggested. The main service characteristics of photodiodes were studied. The passivation of photodiodes decreased their dark current by 14%. The Peltier effect was observed for the A3B 5 semiconductor/h-f-mix heterojunction. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Investigation of extraction of fullerene mixture from the fullerene soot obtained by plasma erosion of graphite rod in helium atmosphere with different solvents such as α-chloronaphthalene, o-dichlorobenzene, o-xylene, toluene, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, and n-hexane at 25°C was carried out. Completeness and effectiveness of extraction as well as relative content of light (C60, C70) and heavy (C76, C 78, C84) fullerenes in the extract were evaluated. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2011.
