Technical development in power, chemical and automotive industry has led to increase transportation of LPG in Poland. There are about 8000 registered road tankers used to transportation of dangerous substances in our country. A lot of traffic accidents involving such vehicles happen every year. They usually occur as a result of human errors they cause significant risk to the environment. Hazardous substances released as a result of damage of the road tankers are potential sources of serious fires. Consequences of this fires could be injuries or deaths of the people staying nearby. In this paper the consequences of fireball and pool fire on land, which could happen after accident of LPG tanker, are described. The amounts of heat flux at some distance from the place of accident depending on the wind velocity and the amount of transported substances are calculated. Source

Development of energy industry in Poland and other world's countries need to improve of existing or build new infrastructure of pipelines. Currently the pipelines are used to transport natural gas, but should also be used to transport carbon dioxide to the storage in the future. The best way to transport hydrogen are also pipelines. An important aspect of transport of these gases is safety. In the paper the natural gas, hydrogen and carbon dioxide properties are characterized. The negative effects of release of these gases from damage pipeline are described. Safety zones around pipelines transporting CH 4, H2 and CO2 are estimated. Source

The paper presents the issue of assessing the risks associated with transporting hydrogen for long distances. For such transport car containers, rail tankers or pipelines may be used. Uncontrolled release of hydrogen and later fire or explosion may be a result in each of these cases. It is essential to determine the level of risk in the vicinity of the routes of transport vast quantities of hydrogen. In the paper the term of risk in relation to hydrogen transport systems are defined. The analysis major hazardous event scenario, the cause of these events are presented. The effects of fire or explosion of uncontrolled leaking hydrogen are calculated. Follow this, the level of risk in areas around installations of hydrogen are determined. Source
