A plant for upgrading biogas (200 m3/h) by conversion of H 2S to S and by absorption of CO2 in H2O at 20°C under pressure 1 MPa was designed and evaluated from economic point of view. The bio MeH prodn. costs were acceptable both for injection in natural gas grids and for use as vehicle fuels.

Flow characteristics of a stack-type microreactor with cylindrical and rectangular pillars were detd. by numerical simulation. In particular, Impact of reactor fulfillment on velocity, pressure drop and av. residence time distribution was taken into consideration. A gas mixt. with compn. corresponding to the stoichiometry of MeOH prodn. by conversion of synthesis gas was used in numerical calcns. carried out by using a com. computational fluid dynamics software. The effect of filling shape on parameters of the gas mixt. in the reaction zone of microplaster was evaluated.
