This paper presents the selected aspects related to the upper part of microwave spectrum usage (above 40 GHz) and its measurement possibilities. Described commercial technologies used in WPAN and WLAN networks and presented couple others examples of wireless solutions operating at frequencies above 60 GHz, such as electromagnetic weapons. Also examined the possibility of measuring the fields in the frequency range 60-90 GHz of commercial EMF meters with a nominal frequency range below this band. © 2015, Wydawnictwo SIGMA - N O T Sp. z o.o. The elaboration of new methods for controlling bacterial infections becomes increasingly important, in view of expansion of resistant and biofilm-producing strains. This paper describes the meaning of electromagnetic field as the factor influencing bacterial growth, also reviewing the preliminary results of own experiments.
