Oil leaking is a common problem for circulating system of petrochemical industry. A portable infrared oil leakage analyzer was developed in order to quickly find the oil leaking. The principle of this oil leakage analyzer was briefly introduced. The applications in lab and industry showed the result was correct and has wide application in petrochemical industry. Source

γ-ray scanning is a new technology which can serve as an important troubleshooting maintenance tool for petrochemical equipments it can rapidly and directly measured the operating failure of the process equipments such as reactor, the principle and application of a etherification reactor troubleshooting was briefly introduced, and the application results showed that γ-ray scanning techniques could be used widely in petrochemical industry. Corrosion behaviors of domestic 825 alloy in HCl, NaOH and NaCl solutions were studied by corrosion mass loss, electrochemical test and stress corrosion at slow strain rate. Meanwhile, the corrosion morphologies were investigated by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the corrosion behavior of the domestic 825 alloy was not obvious after immersion in NaOH and NaCl solutions for 5 months. However, it corroded evidently after immersion in HCl solution for 7 d, and the corrosion rate in HCl solution increased with increasing HCl concentration. Furthermore, the corrosion current of the domestic 825 alloy increased with increasing concentration of HCl, NaOH and NaCl solution, respectively. The stress corrosion tests at slow strain rate showed that the domestic 825 alloy had no stress corrosion susceptibility in the HCl, NaOH and NaCl solution, thus no stress corrosion crack would occur under normal circumstance. γ-ray scanning and monitoring technology, which can serve as an important on-line troubleshooting and maintenance tool for petrochemical process equipments, was briefly introduced. Troubleshooting examples for industrial distillation columns were given. Inside structure of the column and flow characteristics of the fluid inside the column can be measured rapidly and directly, through which the structural and operating failure of the process equipments can be accurately diagnosed. The industrial applications showed that γ-ray nondestructive monitoring techniques can play a key role in troubleshooting, optimization and predictive maintenance of the petrochemical devices.
