QSFP connector is used for high bandwidth telecommunication and data communication applications. It has strict limitations on the thermal dissipation, the impedance mismatch and the electromagnetic interference. This paper proposes to modify the plastic fixture wafers and to insert additional internal heat sinker, thereby creating an new air flow channel in QSFP connector to enhance the thermal dissipation. Both the software simulation and the hardware measurement are applied to verify the performance of the proposed design. This paper also proposes an improved size design flow for the top-layer heat sinker by using Taguchi method. The designed signal factors, the control levels setup, the mathematical analysis on the simulation results are described to demonstrate the design flow. © 2015 IEEE. Source

It is important to increase their value by managing intellectual capital (IC), since fabless firms face an intensely competitive environment. The aim of this paper is develops a two-stage production process including IC capability and IC efficiency to characterize the IC performance of the fabless firms using a non-parametric frontier method - data envelopment analysis (DEA). The IC performance rating should be considered as a key element for achieving greater innovation and competitive advantages. The results show that IC efficiency is better than IC capability for these fabless firms; 15.8% of fabless firms perform well in both models and these firms can be treated as benchmarks for others; most firms operate at decreasing returns to scale, indicating that firms are facing a highly competitive environment; further mergers and acquisitions among firms should be considered so as to achieve economies of scale; the critical input/output measures will also help firms improve their performance and identify the key factors that impact a firm's performance. By ultraviolet (UV)-assisted synthetic procedure, we have successfully prepared several UV curable organic/inorganic hybrid nanocomposites with excellent gas barrier capabilities, moderate hardness, and good adhesive strength. The experimental results reveal that the physical properties of nanocomposites depend on their chemical structures. Therefore, introduction of silicone and polyurethane (PU) into the Acrylics backbone dramatically raises the adhesive strength as well as refractive index and lowers the gas penetration. Furthermore, we have also applied lab-made nanocomposite g for the encapsulation of organic optoelectronic devices such as OLEDs, flexible OLEDs, and organic solar cells. With the package of lab-made nanocomposite g, the organic optoelectronic devices effectively resist the entry of moisture and oxygen in the air, extending the lifetimes. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. In this paper, the effects of antioxidants and processing parameters on the thermal stability and processability of sPS have been investigated. Experimental results indicate that a long processing duration and mechanic shearing force accelerate the thermal oxidation and addition of antioxidants into sPS can effectively improve color contamination and thermal stability. Furthermore, feasible estimation of sPS/PPO alloys for reflective cups of light emitting diodes (LEDs) have also been made, demonstrating that sPS/PPO alloys are potential candidates by the appropriate prescription of impact modifiers, flame retardants, and titanium dioxide. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. This paper proposes a digitalized low-pass filter (LPF) with wide tuning range and low-area. The parallel connection of active inductor and Miller capacitor are utilized to achieve a low transition band and a low circuit area. Band selectivity is raised by cascading stages of LPF cell. In 0.18um CMOS technology, a 4bits 8-stage LPF template occupies an active area of 0.075mm2 and consumes a power of 17.4mW under 1.8V of supplies. The -3dB frequency is ranged form 0.8MHz to 12.7MHz with an average frequency resolution of 0.74 MHz. © 2015 IEEE. Source
