In order to take account of the vehicle steering stability and the convenience of optimization on the electric power steering system (EPS) parameters, it makes an optimization research on EPS using the Isight optimization software and Simulink platform. It builds the integrated dynamic model of the EPS system and the vehicle model with 7 DOF, and using the total variance evaluation method to establish the multi-objective optimization model of the EPS system; furthermore, completes the integrated optimization of the EPS system and the vehicle model based on the Isight and Simulink software. The results show that the optimization of EPS system integrated the vehicle model with 7 DOF makes drivers more portable and handling stability of the vehicle further promoted, at the same time, the integrated optimization based on the Isight and Simulink platform, which can save tedious derivation of the objective function process, and also make the optimization of EPS system parameters more convenient. © 2016 IEEE.

Aiming at the issue on the automatic measurement of differential housing, an on-line measurement technology of the cylindricity is discussed. According to the geometrical tolerance requirement, a contact cylindricity measurement scheme was determined. Data of measured surface was obtained through the use of linear variable differential transformer (LVDT), the transformational relation between the voltage of sensor and the geometric coordinates of measured points was studied, using the least square method (LSM) to fit the cross-section circle of measured elements, the geometric model of the measured entities was reconstructed, the mathematical model of cylindricity error was built. Measurement software was designed to calculate and show the measurement results. Actual measuring experimental results demonstrated that the method can effectively measure the cylindricity error of the differential housing, as well as further improve the measure accuracy. © 2016 IEEE.

The real-Time change of road adhesion coefficient has a huge impact on the driver road feeling, easily lead to cause car in the driving conditions of the safety problem. To solve this problem, designing power characteristic curve of the electric power steering (EPS) system based on road adhesion coefficient. With the dynamics models of the vehicle and EPS system are established, this paper reasons and estimates the road adhesion coefficient combining with the method to estimate the maximum aligning torque, moreover, makes a step simulation about the model of EPS under 0.3g lateral acceleration based on Matlab/Simulink platform, and conducts the fitting of power characteristic curve which changes along with road adhesion coefficient and speed based on the driver's ideal handwheel torque. The simulation results show that the power characteristic curve designed meets the requirement of the driver's ideal handwheel torque on the high and low adhesion coefficient road, meanwhile, in the steering driving conditions, the road feeling of the driver on the low adhesion road is the same as that of the normal adhesion road, which can effectively prevent the driver's wrong operation, improving the car active safety. © 2016 IEEE.

Flank modification is widely used in helical gear to diminish contact stress and edge contact, to improve the transmission performance. In this paper, tooth contact analysis is used to simulate the modified helical gear driver with high-order parabolic modification curve. The results show that the transmission error is diminished, and the meshing area is non-sensitive to the alignment errors. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Stochastic bifurcation and chaos of a rub-impact rotor system with random stiffness under random excitation are studied in this article. Due to the irrational and fractional expressions existing in the denominator of rub-impact force, the integral process is very complicated. Taylor series expansion is used to expand the irrational and fractional expressions into a series of polynomials. Chebyshev polynomial approximation method is applied to reduce the system equations with random parameter to its equivalent deterministic one, and the responses of stochastic system can be obtained by numerical methods. Numerical simulations show that random parameters have a significant effect on the rub-impact rotor system. It may promote the nonlinear response when the rotational speed is near the 1/2 first-order critical speed and may suppress the nonlinear response when the rotational speed is over the first-order critical speed. © The Author(s) 2016.

In the paper, a new transmission error design method for helical gears is presented. According to transition point position of the contact area in one meshing cycle, the proposed four-order transmission curve is able to diminish contact stress and edge contact, decrease transmission error as well. Tooth contact analysis is used to simulate contact conditions of helical gear driver with four-order parabolic modification curve. To improve the transmission ratio discontinuity problem during the gear shift process in a multi-gear fixed step ratio transmission of the tractors, a hydro-mechanical CVT for tractors was developed. Taking DFH 1302R tractor as the research object, the stepless speed regulation characteristics, condition of smooth shifting, torque characteristics, power split flow characteristics, efficiency characteristics and tractive characteristics of HMCVT were analyzed. By theoretical analysis, the results show that the designed HMCVT has advantages of wide speed governing range, large power transmission, high drive efficiency and steady transmission, which can meet the requirements of complicated variable working conditions of the tractors.

In the process of gear grinding, the grinding worm profile was modified with the wear of grinding worm, which has an important influence on machining accuracy. In this paper, the profile of grinding worm was calculated and simulated according to the tooth contact analysis. The profile error was analyzed according to the outer diameter of grinding worm. With the wear of grinding worm from outer diameter 400mm to 380mm, the grinding worm profile was recalculated after being redressed to ensure grinding accuracy. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The traditional methods of dynamic modeling for the simulation of hydro-mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT) are cumbersome and complex. The physical simulation models of engine, hydraulic speed regulating mechanism, mechanical speed regulating mechanism and the load were established based on Simscape, and the dynamic characteristics of the components were analyzed in the paper. The simulation results show that with the change of displacement ratio e, the output speed of the system is continuous and stepless, and the output torque of the system is constant when the torque of load is constant. From the analysis results, it is concluded that the physical models are feasible. The research provides a theoretical foundation and a verification platform for further development and improvement of HMCVT shifting strategy. © 2015 IEEE.
