As an important part of the Intelligent Traffic System (ITS), traffic sign detection is an important pre-procession for ITS. This paper developed a novel sign detection algorithm based on the Shape-band template matching which models an object within a bandwidth of its sketch/contour. Moreover, shape-band is also used as a feature selection method in this paper. Experimental results show the traffic sign detection is robust towards deformation of signs, illumination change and partial occlusion. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

A control method based on genetic neural network is presented to deal with the nonlinear object of the high-power PS-FB-ZVS PWM DC/DC converter. The control system optimizes the initial weight of the BP neural network and PID parameters tuning on line utilizing the genetic algorithm, which directly controls the object in closed-loop and has solved the problem that the controller network initial weight coefficient influences the control effect, thus, the optimal dynamic and steady state performance of the system is ensured. In the MATLAB environment, the control systems consisting of different controllers are simulated, and the output voltage and output current waveforms are obtained when the system is loaded by experiment. The results show that the controller has strong robustness, fast response speed, and small output voltage fluctuations with load changes. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Nine kinds of rotary-cutter with different parameters were designed. The cross experiment of three factors on three levels was made in order to find out the most reasonable parameters of rotary-cutter on 6BX40 ramie-stripping machine. Through analyzing the parameters influence on three indices-the loss rate of fiber, glue content in fiber and power consumption, a better parameter group was found out: the rotary-cutter diameter was 45 mm, blade teeth helix angle was 4°, blade teeth front angle was 8°. The stripping experiment showed that the loss rate of fiber was 4.3%, glue content in fiber was 25.8%, power consumption was 0.92 kW, when the rotary-cutter cutting speed was 1.2 m/s, bark transportation speed was 0.6 m/s.
