The properties of the marine alkaline protease and its use in wool treatment were studied. The result showed that the optimum temperature of the protease was 50 °C and the optimum pH value was 9. It will be obtained a well activity low then 35 °C and pH value 6 ̃ 10. Some metal ions, such as Cu2+ ,can add protease activity. Addition, this protease had a well compatibility in chemical agents and thickening. In the aspect of hydrolysis wool fiber, because this marine alkaline protease can hydrolysis the lecithoid layer and do not harm the cortical layer, this protease will bring a well development potential in wool treatment.
