A novel structure of vertical trisection helical baffle feed water heater can enhance the heat transfer by effectively draining the condensate with inclined baffles and separating water droplets from vapor due to centrifugal force in helix channels. The draining film effect of inclined baffles and the impact of spiral flow on condensation heat transfer in a vertical trisection helical baffle condenser were numerically simulated. These simulation schemes include the Nusselt condensation models under the conditions of pure steam or in presence of non-condensable gas, the vertical trisection helical baffle condenser schemes with baffle inclined angles of 15°, 25° and 35° and the segmental baffle scheme in the presence of non-condensable gas. The results demonstrate that the condensation heat transfer increases with the decrease of inclined angle of helical baffles, and in the presence of non-condensable gas, the average condensation heat transfer coefficients of three trisection helical baffle schemes with inclined angles of 15°, 25° and 35° and the segmental baffle scheme are 89.7%, 75.7%, 58.2% and 33.1% higher than that of the bare tube bundle of Nusselt condensation model. The seismic wave is decomposed into components of different frequency bands of wavelet by using the wavelet decomposition transform, then the total energy of structure inputted by seismic wave is decomposed, and the energy distribution in the frequency domain is got, which is a meaningful result. By analysis of the peaks of each sub-component energy spectrum the spectral characteristics of seismic wave can be obtained, at which the spectrum peak occurs. The structural natural period at which the energy is the same as the predominant period of the Fourier spectrum of seismic waves,so it can also be used as a way to estimate the predominant period of the seismic wave. The feed water heaters in power plants are actually the condensers using turbine extracting steam to heat feed water. The vertical feed water heater occupies less area than the horizontal one and convenient to lift tube bundles out in maintenance. However, the lower heat transfer coefficient due to thick condensate film limits its application. A novel trisection helical baffled vertical condenser (feed water heater) is proposed with liquid dams and gaps for facilitating condensate drainage. The flow and condensation heat transfer characters of two vertical condensers with variable angled trisection helical baffles of both single-thread and dual-threads and a variable spanned segmental baffled one were numerically studied with Mixture model of Fluent software. The distributions of velocity, pressure, volume fraction of condensate, and local heat transfer coefficient in these heat exchangers were demonstrated. The simulation results show that the inclined baffles with liquid dam and drainage gaps could drain condensate effectively from tube bundle surfaces and prevent liquid film from entraining into vapor, and that the variable angled trisection helical baffled vertical condenser with dual-threads could greatly improve the condensation heat transfer coefficient up to 35.7% higher than that of the variable spanned segmental baffled one. © 2016 Elsevier Ltd. The low cyclic loading experiment was conducted for one 1/3 scale one-bay two-story concrete-filled square steel tube frame-thin steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) with side opening. The failure process, failure pattern and mechanism were investigated. The nonlinear numerical analysis of concrete-filled square steel tubular frame-thin steel plate shear walls with side opening was carried out by the finite element software ABAQUS. The influences of the column section type, opening ratio, height-to-thickness of the SPSW, column bending stiffness, and ratio of axial compression on the hysteretic behavior of thin steel plate shear wall with side opening were studied. The results show that the concrete-filled square steel tubular frame-thin steel plate shear walls with side opening have higher bearing capacity, stiffness and energy dissipation capacity. The need for waste heat recovery from molten yellow phosphorus slag is analyzed. The difficulties of yellow phosphorus slag heat recovery are explained in detail. Based on the field investigation, thermal analysis and experimental research, a new designing scheme of slag heat recovering and reuse system in yellow phosphorus slag is provided. The system structure and gain of energy-saving and environmental protection of slag waste heat recovery kiln are introduced and proved. Source
