Overexpression of NHX genes has been previously shown to improve salt tolerance of transgenic plants. In this study, transgenic rice plants overexpressing AtNHX5 showed not only high salt tolerance, but also high drought tolerance. Measurements of ion levels indicated that Na+ and K+ contents were all higher in AtNHX5 overexpressing shoots than in wild type (WT) shoots in high saline conditions. After exposure to water deficiency and salt stress, the WT plants all died, while the AtNHX5 overexpressing rice plants had a higher survival rate, dry weight, leaf water content, and leaf chlorophyll contents, accumulated more proline, and had less membrane damage than the WT plants. In addition, seeds of both transgenic and WT plants germinated on 1/2 MS medium supplemented with 250 mM mannitol, but overexpression of AtNHX5 improved the shoot growth of the seedlings. Taken together, the results indicate that AtNHX5 gene could enhance the tolerance of rice plants to multiple environmental stresses by promoting the accumulation of more effective osmolytes (ions or proline) to counter the osmotic stress caused by abiotic factors. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V. This paper proposes an abnormal signal retrieval method for differences equipments in Internet of Things (IOT) based on Signal Fusion Technology. It elaborates on the fusion rules for communication signal of underlying devices, according to which describes the conditions need to be met when abnormal signal of the underlying devices in IOT is fused. Laplace energy and weighting algorithm are adopted to fuse abnormal signals of the underlying multi-device in IOT in order to achieve fusion detection for abnormal signal. In order to solve the coordinate problem of high redundancy and lack of stability in traditional failure mining knowledge base, this paper presents a fuzzy failure mining algorithm to realize regular acquisition in inconsistent case and purification of learning samples by the comprehensive application of fuzzy data processing technology. With characters of simplified samples, strong adaptability, high failure tolerance and not easy to fall into local minimum point, the algorithm can effectively process the diagnosis and incompatible information in network failure mining. The experiments show that the system implemented by this method improves accuracy and speed of diagnosis and has a certain application value comparing to other similar methods. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. The accurate infrared gait detection is a research difficulty because of the unique thermal imaging characteristics. Therefore, the coarse result of infrared human detection is obtained by using the background subtraction method based on the single Gaussian background model, and is fine segmented by applying the improved pulse coupled neural network (PCNN). At the same time, the effect of the adaptive segmentation is reached by introducing the immune ant colony algorithm to fast determine the optimal segmentation parameters of PCNN. The simulation results show that this algorithm can achieve the ideal detection effect. © 2011 IEEE. Source
