Yamagata University is a national university located in the Japanese cities of Yamagata, Yonezawa, and Tsuruoka in Yamagata Prefecture. The university was established in 1949, but its origin can be traced back to the Yamagata Normal School , a public teacher-training institution, founded in 1878 in Yamagata City. The university also has other roots: the Yonezawa Higher Technical School founded in 1910 in Yonezawa City, the Yamagata Higher School founded in 1920 in Yamagata City, the Yamagata Youth Normal School founded in 1922 in Yamagata City, and the Yamagata Prefectural Agricultural College founded in 1947 in Tsuruoka City.Yamagata University is the second-largest university in the Tohoku Region. The university has six faculties and about 10,000 students in four campuses. It also has an additional subcampus in which University K-9 schools are administered. Wikipedia.

Patent
Yamagata University and NOF Corporation | Date: 2015-03-23

The present invention provides a polymer compound that can be expected to inhibit activation of a coagulation system, a complement system or a platelet system when brought into contact with in vivo tissue and/or blood since the compound is capable of containing intermediate water, and a composition and a device using the same. This problem is solved by a polymer compound containing a repeating unit represented by general formula (A), and used in contact with in vivo tissue and/or blood, in which in a process in which the polymer compound caused to contain water in a prescribed water content is cooled to 100 C. and thereafter heated at a temperature rise rate of 5.0 C./min, a temperature region where exothermicity occurs is present in the range of 80 C. or more and 25 C. or less, and a temperature region where endothermicity occurs is present in the range of 25 C. or more and lower than 0 C.:

It is intended to provide an in vitro culture medium that allows the in vitro culture of fertilized eggs to progress normally to the blastocyst stage without arresting the development thereof. The normal development rate of a fertilized egg is improved by using 5-aminolevulinic acids represented by the following formula (I) (wherein R^(1) represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group, and R^(2) represents a hydrogen atom, a linear or branched alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, or an aralkyl group) or salts thereof as an agent for improving a normal development rate of a fertilized egg.

A cell culture device comprises a cell culture membrane and a substrate fixed to the cell culture membrane. The cell culture membrane is made from a thermosetting resin and has a plurality of pores that are open to at least one surface including a surface on a side that is in contact with the substrate. The substrate is made from a thermoplastic resin. In a contact region between the cell culture membrane and the substrate, part of the substrate is extended to form bulges in the pores of the cell culture membrane that are open in the contact region. This configuration suppresses reduction of the strength of the cell culture membrane and reduction of the flatness of the cell culture membrane (membrane accuracy) in the cell culture device in which the cell culture membrane and the substrate are fixed to each other.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal horizontal orientation agent, a horizontal orientation type liquid crystal composition, a horizontal orientation type LCD device and a method of fabricating the horizontal orientation type LCD device. In one embodiment, the liquid crystal molecule is horizontally oriented by the liquid crystal horizontal orientation agent without the rubbed orientation layer.
