The objective of this work was to study the sodium alkali(Na2S03) FGD process in a pilot-scale column packed column of diameter 0.4m. Main operating conditions affecting SO2 removal efficiency were investigated experimentally. These conditions include pH value of the absorption solution, liquid-gas ratio, superficial gas velocity, inlet SO2 concentration, temperature of absorption solution and initial Na2SO3 molar concentration. The relation between the ratio of desulfurization and every parameter was investigated. And the suitable operational conditions of SO2 absorption in lab are recommended. The experimental results show that SO2 removal efficiency may be over 80% under the following conditions: pH=6-7, L/G=1-2L/m3, gas superficial velocity is 1-1.5m/s, absorption solution temperature is under 50°C, initial [Na2SO3]≈0.3-0. 5mol/L, and SO2 initial concentration is 4300 mg/m3. The experimental data can provide the necessary basic data for the design and operation of the practical desulfurization equipments. Source

Test was made on separating iron from a ultra-low-grade vanadium titanium magnetite ore by a process of tailing discarding at a coarser size, staged grinding and staged low intensity magnetic separation. The results show that when the raw ore is treated by permanent dry magnetic separator with low intensity magnetic separation at 12~0 mm size, qualified tailings of about 20% yield can be discarded. The coarse concentrate is grounded in two stages. With the first stage grinding size being 45% -200 mesh and the second stage, 75% -200 mesh, and then treated by two stage low intensity magnetic separation. As a result, an iron concentrate with a TFe grade of 65.80%and an iron recovery of 47.74%can be achieved. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. Source

Based on the two-film mass transfer theory, a model for absorbing SO 2 in flue gas by sodium alkali solution in packed column was proposed, which includes diffusion and reaction processes. In the model, all reversible reactions, the effect of gas phase resistance on the mass transfer and the diffusion of various components are taken into account. The equations in the model could be solved by using MATLAB with boundary conditions obtained by rational estimation of the parameters involved. Then the model was used to calculate the concentration profiles in the liquid film, partial pressure, mass transfer rate, pH profiles, enhancement factor and gas film resistances along the column, respectively. The calculated results were compared to experimental data and a good agreement was achieved. The study provides a basis for theoretical analysis and engineering design of the process of adsorbing SO 2 in flue gas by sodium alkali solution and other wet FGD process. Source

For different stages of development the article also introducted representative collectors which some iron ore beneficiation plant use briefly, and then explained the details of domestic current high quality collectors.
