A monitor module for dedicated relaying protection transceiver is designed. The monitor module adopts Samsung's ARM9 family chip S3C2410 as its core processor, and it adopts real-time scalable embedded operating system WinCE. NET as its operating system. So, it can meet all kinds of requirements for real-time operating and reliability in the work field. The monitor module communicates with DSP module of transceiver through RS232. It can perform many functions such as configuration of working parameters, clock modification, and events recording. It also can real-time monitor the transceiver's working state such as sending level, receiving level, etc. The paper describes hardware design, software design, and the application of the monitor module.

In view of the characteristics of information flow in smart substation, a development scheme of special smart communication device based on IEC61850 is proposed. This paper analyzes the economic costs and technical application of industrial Ethernet switch in smart substation, and explores the special application requirement for communication device of smart substation in future. Special communication device abandons the mechanism of data process for industrial Ethernet technology, adopts several technology such as virtual private wire, hierarchical OAM, end-to-end QoS, precise clock synchronization and standard modeling, optimizes network resource configuration management, and improves the information transmission efficiency of communication device and network performance.

Aiming at the requirement such as multi-service transport, IP-based services and network convergence for smart power distribution and utilization networks, this paper proposes a solving scheme for packet transfer technology. It introduces the hierarchical distributed architecture for smart power distribution and utilization networks and the key services requirement, analyzes the characteristics of existing communication technologies, discusses the application of packet transfer technology from the aspects such as multi-service transport, quality of service (QoS), survivability technology, operation administration and maintenance (OAM) and synchronous technology, and offers an application model for packet transfer technology. This research provides an application basis of packet transfer technology in smart power distribution and utilization networks.

Aiming to IEC61850 calling for a new requirement on the function, EMC, tempreture and mechnical structure of Industrial ethernet switch, this paper introduces a design scheme of fiber industrial ethernet switch based on IEC61850. This scheme gives many specific realization technologies in software and hardware design. The application of fiber industrial ethernet switch based on IEC61850 in digitalized substation will play a positive role in enhancing the level of substation automation.
