A Pd(II)-catalysed homocoupling of sodium arylsulfinates has been successfully achieved under mild conditions. This transformation is a new method for the homocoupling reaction of sodium arylsulfinates, thus providing an alternative synthesis of symmetric biaryls. The reported homocoupling reaction is tolerant to many common functional groups, such as ester, halo, cyano and nitro and works well in the presence of electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents. Notably, the reported desulfinative homocoupling does not require Cu salts, ligands and bases, making this newly developed transformation attractive. © 2017, Science Reviews 2000 Ltd. We consider the characteristics of automatic warehousing systems with irregular positions, in order to improve the optimization control objectives of the overall working efficiency and space utilization, this paper studies the irregular storage optimization distribution strategy, presents the mathematical model to optimize the irregular storage area and each storage location, and then two-level genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the problem. The result shows that the optimization method effectively improves the system efficiency and realizes the processes of intensive storage and retrieval, which provides the theoretical basis and practical methods for the optimization of irregular storage location assignment in automatic warehousing systems. © 2016, UK Simulation Society. Landfills are designed to dispose high quantities of waste at economical costs with potentially less environmental effects; however, improper landfill management may pose serious environmental threats through discharge of high strength polluted wastewater also known as leachate. This paper focused on achievements on landfill leachate treatment by different technology, which contains biological treatment and membrane technology. Finally, development and prospect of landfill leachate treatment were predicted. © 2013.

Two new metal-organic networks, namely, {[Ni2(5-CH 3-ip)2(L)2(H2O)]·4H 2O}n (1) and [Ni(2,4′-bpdc)(L)(H2O)] n (2), [5-CH3-ip = 5-methylisophthalic acid, 2,4′-bpdc = biphenyl-2,4′-dicarboxylate, and L = 1,4-bis(2-methylimidazol-3-ium-1-yl)biphenyl], were obtained from hydrothermal reactions of Ni2+ with two dicarboxylic acids and N-donor ligand, respectively. The structures of complexes 1 and 2 show polycatenated 2D + 2D → 3D framework and 2D hcb topological net, respectively. Furthermore, the thermal stability of complexes 1 and 2 are investigated. An efficient and simple synthetic method for biaryl synthesis was developed using Pd(OAc)2 as catalyst from aryl hydrazides under O2. Various biaryls were synthesized in good yields, offering an expedient protocol for the synthesis of symmetrical biaryl molecules via C - N cleavage. We reported a core-shell structured nanocomposite for Hg(II) sensing and removal, using superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanodots as the core and silica molecular sieve MCM-41 as the shell. A rhodamine derived emission "Off-On" probe was grafted into the tunnels of MCM-41. The resulting nanocomposite was fully characterized and studied with electron microscopy images, XRD curves, thermogravimetric analysis and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms, confirming the core-shell structure and the successful probe loading. The Hg(II) sensing and removal performance of this nanocomposite was then explored in detail. Experimental data suggested that the emission from the probe increased with the increasing Hg(II) concentration, showing emission "Off-On" effect and linear response towards Hg(II) ion. Fast response, good selectivity and low detection limit were also obtained, owing to the highly ordered tunnels from MCM-41. In addition, good recycling performance was achieved by this nanocomposite. © 2014 Elsevier B.V.

Listeria monocytogenes, an important foodborne pathogen, is the causal agent of listeriosis. In this study, a total of 954 food samples originating from raw meat, cooked meat products, seafood, and vegetables purchased from supermarkets and open-air markets in Henan province, China, were analyzed for the presence of L.monocytogenes. All L.monocytogenes isolates were subjected to serotyping, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), and antimicrobial resistance. The overall percentage of L.monocytogenes prevalence was 6.2% (n=59) with the highest rate of 7.4% for cooked meat products followed by raw meat (6.7%). The isolates belonged to five serotypes (1/2a, 1/2b, 1/2c, 4b, and 4c), with serotype 1/2a being predominant (55.9%). PFGE revealed a low genetic diversity among the isolates, irrespective of their sources, suggesting that dominant clones are widespread in different food products in Henan. Resistance to cefotaxime (30.5%) and ciprofloxacin (13.5%) was most often, whereas resistance to tetracycline, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, and erythromycin was observed less frequently. The presence of L.monocytogenes in food products and antimicrobial resistance among the isolates represents a potential public health risk. Our results indicate that effective hygienic measures and bacteriological controls are necessary in China to reduce the contamination of retail food samples by L.monocytogenes. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd.

The homocoupling reaction of alkynes was carried out in the presence of 10 mol% AuCl3 using I2 as oxidant to generate 1,3-diynes products in high yield. The method is simple, safe and efficient. Both aryl and alkyl substituted alkynyl substrates reacted smoothly. AuClPPh3 also showed comparable catalytic activity to this transformation under a nitrogen atmosphere.

Adopted the coupling method and considered the elastic deformation, the paper did the numerical calculation for a water lubrication rubber bearing used horizontal installation. And by means of the finite element analysis software, the nonlinear contact was studied. The results of water film pressure, water film thickness, carrying capacity and deformation of rubber bush are analysed, and draw some useful conclusions. The results provide design basis and reference information for the dynamic calculation to rubber bearing. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
