Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the primary cause of serious lower respiratory tract illness in infants and young children worldwide. The mechanism is largely unknown. RSV stimulates airway epithelial cells and resident leukocytes to release cytokines. Cytokines and chemokines involved in host response to RSV infection are thought to play a central role in the pathogenesis. In addition, RSV infection early in life has been associated with the development of asthma in later childhood. It is likely that the persistence of cytokines and chemokines in fully recovered patients with RSV in the long term can provide a substratum for the development of subsequent asthma. This review describes the genetic factors in cytokines and chemokines associated with severity of RSV disease, cytokines and chemokines synthesis in RSV infection, and the role of these innate immune components in RSV-associated asthma. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd.

Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) is a modern sample pretreatment technique that is regarded as consilient with the current trends of modern analytical chemistry. DLLME is simple, inexpensive, environmentally friendly, and could offer high enrichment factors from a wide gap between acceptor and donor phases. As a consequence, DLLME has attracted considerable attention from researchers and, based on the numerous publications concerning DLLME, has been generally accepted in separation science since the technique's invention in 2006. However, several innate weaknesses of DLLME, which restrict the technique's use in certain fields, have led to various attempts or suggestions to improve this technique. The present review focuses on the recent advances made in DLLME; the selected papers that are discussed in this work represent modifications that fall into three main categories (exploration of new extraction solvents, disperser solvents and combination with other techniques). The recent applications of DLLME in environmental, food and biological samples are also summarised, covering almost all of the publications related to the technology from the beginning. In addition, the feasibility of future trends of DLLME is discussed. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.

An inorganic-organic co-functional monomer, methacrylic acid-vinyltriethoxysilan (MAA-VTES) was designed for the synthesis of molecularly imprinted microspheres (MIMs). By virtue of the aqueous suspension polymerization and dummy template (pazufloxacin), the obtained MAA-VTES based MIMs exhibited good recognition and selectivity to fluoroquinolones (FQs), and were successfully applied as selective sorbents of a miniaturized home-made solid phase extraction device for the determination of ofloxacin (OFL), lomefloxacin (LOM) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) in milk samples. Under the optimum conditions of the miniaturized molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction (mini-MISPE) coupled with liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detector (LC-UV), good linearities were obtained for three FQs in a range of 0.2-20.0μgmL-1 and the average recoveries at three spiked levels were ranged from 87.2% to 106.1% with the relative standard deviation (RSD) less than 5.4%. The presented co-functional monomer based mini-MISPE-LC-UV protocol introduced the rigidity and flexibility of inorganic silicon materials, exhibited excellent extraction performance towards targets, and could be potentially applied to the determination of FQs in milk samples. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.

With computer simulation approach and theoretical mechanics analysis approach, according to two kinds of the loop plays, the author studied and compared the state change laws of loop after colliding. The two kinds of results received in analysis are identical. The speed of high-speed loop slows down to some extent, but rotate is strengthened, and the speed of high-spin loop drive is accelerated, but rotate is weaken. The paper indicates that computer simulation technology can be applied to dynamics study and state measurement of table tennis, and it also has certain guidable meaning for practicing. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Food preservative materials are indispensable for food commercialization. As serious side effects of chemical food preservative materials, new natural materials are central issues. Honeysuckle, a natural herb which is used as a clear away heat and toxic material in Chinese traditional medicine has activities of antibacterial, antiinflammatory, antiviral, antioxidant, anticancer and so on. It may be an potentially promising preservative material. Different varieties, different processing methods and different solvents were experimented by disk diffusion method, as a result, ethanol extract of Julu Honeysuckle was a best choice. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.


Flavonols is a class of widely distributed in nature polyphenols. Usually, studies have shown that lots of flavonols had certain effect on alcoholism. Studies have show that lots of flavonoids have effect on aminobutyric acid (GABA) which is an important inhibitory neurotransmitter mammalian in central nervous system. Dihydro flavonols, an kind of flavonols may have effect on alcoholism by GABA. Recent studies have shown that dihydro myricetin, an dihydro flavonol, has shown inhibition of GABA receptor gene expression. Synthesis and Reactivity in Inorganic, Metal-Organic and Nano-Metal Chemistry | Year: 2016

A new Zn(II) compound, namely [Zn(pam)(bib)]n (1 H2pam = pamoic acid, bib = 1,4-bis(imidazolyl)butane), has been synthesized by the reactions of Zn(II) ions with H2pam and bib ligands under solvothermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that compound 1 features a 2D→3D interdigitated supramolecular framework. To understand the research hotspots of Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (Pharmacological Action) by PubMed. Methods: With MS Excel, SPSS, Cytoscape software, we took MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) word frequency analysis, clustering analysis, co-word network graph of PubMed papers. Results: It shows that the main research hotspot of ACE-Is (pharmacological action) is Antihypertensive Agents of ACEIs for Hypertension, also it is beneficial to Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Diabetic Nephropathies, Kidney Diseases, Left Ventricular Dysfunction, and so on. Conclusion: It is helpful and timesaving for researcher or doctor to understand the research hotspots with ACE-Is (Pharmacological Action). © Trade Science Inc.

• AIM: To investigate the operation effects of using different concentration mitomycin C(MMC) intraoperatively on laser epithelium keratectomileusis (LASEK). • METHODS: Totally 261 patients 496 eyes were devided into two groups: group 0.4mg/mL MMC (133 patients, 245 eyes); group 0.2mg/mL MMC (128 patients, 251 eyes). 0.4mg/mL and 0.2mg/mL MMC sulution were intraoperatively applied to the cases respectively. The two kinds of instilled solutions were held up in the eyes for 30, 60, 90 and 110 seconds successively according to the ≤-3.00, -3.25- -6. 00, -6.25 - -9.00, ≥-9. 25 of diopter. The formation of corneal haze, the situation of visual acuity , the change of diopter, corneal endothelium density, the healing of cornea were observed. • RESULTS: All the patients were followed up for 1 year. The clinical data of group 0.4mg/mL MMC and group 0.2mg/mL MMC were respectively as follows; the occurrence rate of haze was 1.2% and 13.2%; the appearance rate of influenced visual acuity was 0.8% and 2.0%; the changes of diopter were -0.52±0.09 and -0.67± 0.11D (1 month), -0.29±0.15 and -0.58±0.21D (6 months), -0.35±0.16 and -0.54±0.18D (12 months); the corneal endothelium density of the two groups prooperation, 1 month, 4 and 12 months after operation respectively was 2994.01±321.89 and 3005.92±382. 54, 2974.89±339.87 and 2996.69±374.19, 3001.02±306.92 and 2988.37±367.33, 3011.18±321.31 and 3000.05±299.84. There was a statistically significant difference (P<0.05) in those index. But there were respectively two cases ( 3 eyes) and two cases (2 eyes) of Filamentary keratitis after taking off lenses in group 0.4mg/mL MMC and group 0.2mg/mL MMC. • CONCLUSION: Using 0.4mg/mL MMC solution intraopera-tively can effectively inhibit haze formation and there for improve the results of LASEK greatly, and it is better than 0.2mg/mL MMC.
