In order to detect the moisture content in tobacco bales quickly, a microwave moisture meter (MW-T) and its relevant detection system were introduced, the performance of MW-T was evaluated with method, and the calibration model of MW-T was established. The results showed that: R2 of the developed model was 0.845. The values of Cg and Cgk of MW-T were 1.76 and 1.55, respectively. The way of bale arrangement and bale density had no effect on the moisture content measurement. The average absolute difference between results of MW-T and standard oven method was 0.38% , and the absolute difference of 96.25% of all samples were within ±0.75%.

Synthesis, characterization and adsorption behavior of nicotine molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) toward nicotine in solution and tobacco smoking was investigation in present work. Morphologic Structure and surface character of molecularly imprinted polymer was measured by thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Liquid chromatogram (LC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the chemical composition changes before and after MIP adsorption, the adsorption thermodynamic and selectivity for this MIP was also investigated. The result showed that the MIP can selectivity adsorp nicotine with a selectivity coefficient of 2.275 for nicotine toward pyridine, a ΔH value of 3.516 kJ/mol indicated a endothermic adsorption process. The adsorption rate for nicotine by MIP, NIP and silica gel as adsorbent from tobacco smoking are 94.81%, 94.04% and 66.19%. It demonstrated the polymer had higher absorption capacity to the nicotine in tobacco smoking.

In order to find out the reasons causing the differences of test results between Brabender moisture meter and the industry's standard method, the strips from different stalk positions were tested by differential thermal-thermo gravimetric analysis (TG-DTA). The detection parameters of Brabender moisture meter for the strips from different stalk positions were orthogonally optimized, and a parameter optimizing model was established. The results showed that: when Brabender moisture meter was used, the sample was dried at a higher temperature, not only the free water and bound water, but also some of the volatile substances with small molecules in strips were evaporated out, which were the main reason causing the differences of test results between Brabender moisture meter and the routine oven method with a setting drying temperature at (100±1)°C. The parameter optimizing mode for Brabender moisture meter was: factor level selection, orthogonal experiment optimization and evaluation, evaluation period 3 hours.
