The 20CrMnTiH rolled bars produced from cast bloom (300mm×430mm) occurred serious pattern segregation in Xiangtan Steel, which was bad for the finished product quality. By the properly adjusting the casting operation techniques, the quality of rolled bars was improved. After casting system was adjusted such as increasing the water flow rate (from 0.27L/kg to 0.35L/kg) and decreasing the strength of mold magnetic stirring (from 400A to 200A and 0), the rate of exquiaxed zone decreases with the reducing of stirring strength and the carbon segregation patterns of cast blooms are different whether the magnetic stirring was on or off. The pattern segregation of rolled bar disappeared when the magnetic stirring was off, and the distribution of carbon content and hardness of rolled bar was the most homogeneous and the quality was improved. The microstructure distribution of semi-solid AZ91D magnesium alloy after ultrasonic processing and the mechanism of the formation of the refining grains and non-dendrite structure were studied. Semi-solid AZ91D magnesium alloy melt samples were processed under different ultrasonic powers with same initial ultrasonic temperature and standing time, and microstructures of Semi-solid AZ91D at different position of the sample were obtained. The experimental results show that the microstructure of AZ91D magnesium alloy at different position of the sample under the same ultrasonic power is different in grain shape and size, and there is great difference in its microstructure at the same position of the sample under different ultrasonic powers. Bainitic steel ingots were heated to 1450 °C with holding 1 h, cooled in air, and then quenched respectively at 1200 °C , 800 °C. The ingots with quenching were investigated to compare the ingots without quenching by TEM. The results show that the oxide is found in the ingot quenched at 1200 °C attached with a little of sulfide and Nitride. MnS, CuxS and copper precipitate in large size attached with TiN in ingot quenched at 800 °C. In ingot, CuS precipitates combined with little MnS and (Ti,Nb)(CN) in fine size. Source

The influence of Ti, Nb and B on microstructure and mechanical properties of low carbon bainitic steel was investigated by adjusting Ti, Nb and B content respectively in C-Mn steels and 700MPa low carbon bainitic steels, using micro-alloying and TMCP technology to produce plate in experimental condition . The ratio of bainite rise with increase in the content of Nb, and Rm , ReL., AK of low carbon bainitic steel increase with the increment of niobium. With the increment of titanium content, the ratio of bainite increases, and the steel strength is improved, toughness is affected by the heat treatment process. With the increment of boron content, lath-like bainite is formed, the strength is improved but toughness is weakened. Source
