Oil pollution in hydraulic operating mechanism is hazardous to reliable operation of power grid. This paper introduces particle pollution degrees in Chinese national standards and corresponding international standards, analyzes the source of particle pollution and the harm, and discusses the grind-machining and the demagnetizing methods of the mechanism's parts after magnetic inspection. Moreover, requirement of oil cleanliness and particle pollution control methods for hydraulic system of hydraulic operating mechanism are proposed. Experimental result shows the methods are effective.

To meet the requirements of power grid for three-phase mechanical transmission of a 252 kV tank circuit breaker, conventional LW24-252 phase-separation tank circuit breaker was improved by amending its power train section but retaining its structure of arc-suppressing chamber. The measured characteristic curves of the improved circuit breaker were in accordance with those of the conventional products. Now the improved circuit breaker has passed through the type test and has been applied to engineering.

Aiming at the failure of instant open after close of CT20 type high-power spring mechanism, the authors describe the structure of the CT20 type high-power spring mechanism and the principle of maintaining closing-state, and analyzes various factors inducing the instant open after close failure. Disassembly analysis of failed mechanisms is conducted. Subsequently, tests demonstrate that the instant open after close failure of the CT20 type high-power spring mechanism is eliminated by controlling the factors mentioned.

This article describes the design and trial-produce of type CYA8G high-power hydraulic spring mechanism, which is used for LW □-1100 double breaks high-voltage AC bypass switch. In the design and trial process, common circuit breaker and bypass switch and its operating mechanism based on different standards, and thus lead to different design ideas and design basis. Differences are mainly reflected in the operating cycle and requirements of closing movement and characteristics. According to the requirement characteristics, the reverse operation of the bypass switch method is used. Technical performance has reached the desired design requirements, and test results meet the standards and product specification requirements.

To test the safety, reliability and consistency of the mechanism for GIS disconnecting switches or earthing switches operating under rated load, a multi-functional simulating test device was designed. The device is on the basis of the electromagnetic control principle, and adopts a loader and a controller. Moreover, the mechanical and electrical parts of the complete device were designed and trial-manufactured to realize the infinitely variable regulation of the load torque. This device can be equipped with a mechanical property tester to test the time and speed of opening and closing actions for evaluating the assembly quality of the mechanism, so as to ensure a perfect match of the mechanism and switch.
