1-Alkoxymetyl-3-hydroxypyridinium chlorides, acesulfames and saccharinates were obtained by conversion of 3-hydropyridine with chlorometyl-alkyl ethers and following Cl ion exchange to acesulfame or saccharinate ions (yields 95-99%, 83-97%, and 85-91%, resp.) and tested as sweet surfactants. The salts were ozonated in aq. soin, and hydrolyzed at 100°C. The reaction with O 3 resulted in quant, removal of the salts. Their thermal stability strongly depended on the anion kind. 3-Hydroxy-1-octyloxymethylpyridinium acesulfame was removed in 44%, while the resp. saccharinate in 26% only.

NMe2(CH2)2OH (deanol) was esterified with AcCl and C9H19COCl to resp. hydrochlorides quaternized with ClCH2OC12H25. After exchanging the Cl anion to saccharate, acesulfamate, bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, trifluoroacetate, dicyanoimide, nitrate, chlorate, tetrafluoroborate and hexafluorophosphate anions, the resulting salts were analyzed for purity (thin layer chromatog.), content of cationlc active substance (titrn.), optionally mp. and chem. structure (NMR). All C9H19-substituted low-melting salts as well as all ionic liqs. studied (except for hexafluorophosphate) showed an excellent antielectrostatic capacity (logarithm of surface resistance below 9, half-time of charge disappearance below 0.5 s).

Twenty-five various ionic liqs. were synthesized and studied for biocidic activity against Basidiomycotina, Ascomycotina and Deuteromycotina wood-destroying fungi, fixation in Scots pine wood tissue and effect on phys. and mech. properties of the wood. The bis-quaternary derivatives of 1-octyldimethylamine and 1-decylimidazole nitrates showed the highest fungicidal activity. The adsorption kinetics of the ionic liqs. was described by the 2nd order model. Didecylmethylpoly(oxyethyl)ammonium propionate was recommended for practical use In woodprotecting formulations.

Nine 4-benzyl-4-methylmorpholinium salts were synthesized by quaternization of methylmorpholine with PhCH2Cl and following exchange of the Cl ion with NO3, HSO4, BF4, PF6, SCN, CH3SO3, CF3SO3 and (CF 3SO2)2 ions in aq. or MeOH soins, at room temp. The salts were studied for chem. structure (by NMR), viscosity and thermal properties (by thermogravimetry). The SCN salts was successfully used for removal of glycerol from biodiesel by extn.

Me2C(p-C6H4O(CH2CH 2O)4OCOCH=CH2)2 was dild. with (PrO)2CO, (EtO)2CO and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (I) or 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide) (II) (mass ratio from 20:0:0:80 to 20:30:30:20) and photopolymerized with PhCOPh(OMe)2 (400 W for 20 min) to solid electrolyte films (thickness 0.019-0.035 cm). The films were studied for elec. cond. The diln. resulted in an increase in the elec. cond. of the films up to 9.1 mS/cm (I) or 11.6 mS/cm (II) (max. at the diln. ratio 20:25:25:30).
