An imide rings and long aliph. chains-contg. diacid was synthesized in reaction of bicyclo[2,2,2]oct-7-en-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic dianhydride and NH2(CH2)10COOH and used as modifier of a com. epoxy resin (epoxy no. 0.49-0.52) cured with NH2(CH 2CH2NH)2CH2CH2H 2 and tested for mech. (impact and bending strength, hardness) and thermal properties (differential scanning calorimetry, ther-mogravimetry). Addn. of the diacid resulted in improving the mech. properties of the epoxy resins.


Isocyanate-free polyurethanes were synthesized by reaction of an oligomeric condensation product of urea, CH2O and p-HOC6H 4SO3 with oligooxyalkylene dicarbamates, dispersed in water and used for impregnation of wet leather wastes to improve their hygienic and strength properties. Use of the oil in water dispersions was more efficient than the use of water in oil ones. The leather impregnated with polyoxybutylene urethane showed better properties than that impregnated with polyoxypropylene urethane.
