Investment needs in Polish electrical power engineering sector are largely determined by outdated technologies and production infrastructure, as well as current power engineering policies of the European Union. Investment outlays borne in 2008-2011 by major capital groups were on average lower by 50% than financial means coming from retained profit and amortization. It seems that the reason for this situation is the lack of clearcut development strategies in surveyed entities addressing all identified risks that the electrical power engineering sector is facing resulting from climate policies adopted by the European Union, uncertainties associated with privatization of the power industry in Poland, and predicted changes in power engineering law.

The article deals with two-modular matrix converter and controlling methods enabling to increase voltage transfer ratio up to one. This is the controlling with entirely elimination of common mode voltage. I the article are presented simulation results for two controlling versions. The theoretical considerations are confirmed by laboratory measurements.

The real energetic properties of SPI serial communication interface have been presented in this paper. The interface of Silicon Labs microcontroller C8051F902 was selected for research from the group of microcontrollers with low power consumption. The group of programs in different versions for accurate testing of interface in different programming and hardware configurations were elaborated. The influence of microcontroller timing source, speed of data transmisssion and power supply on energetic properties of SPI interface was investigated. The internal modules of SPI interface and modifiactions of I/O ports sets were also analysed. © 2015, Kluwer Academic Publishers. All Rights Reserved.
