The finite element software ANSYS is adopted to simulate the electromagnetic field of a transformer and the power losses of its structural parts. The effects of the height of shielding plate on tank wall and the additional shielding rods located at winding ends on the stray losses of steel structural parts are analyzed. The results show that the introduction of the shielding rods can reduce both the leakage magnetic field in the clamps and the transverse magnetic field at coil ends, and can also significantly reduce the stray losses in the clamp and tank. The shielding plate with appropriate height can reduce the eddy current loss of some structural parts. This study may provide a reference for rational design of transformer. Source
