To promote the use of recycled concrete in practical engineering, pull-out tests were carried out to study the influence of Coarse/Fine Recycled Concrete Aggregate (CRCA/FRCA) replacement rate, water-cement ratio and the anchoring conditions on the compressive strength and bonding properties of Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RAC). The results show that: the bond strength of RAC rises with the increasing of CRCA replacement rate, and arrives at the maximum when the rate=60%, then reduces; the bond strength of RAC reduces while the FRCA replacement rate increases, and it is better than that of ordinary concrete; too much CRCA/FRCA replacement will reduce the compressive strength of RAC; lower water-cement ratio can improve the compressive strength and bond strength of RAC, and water-cement ratio variation has less influence on RAC than that of ordinary concrete; appropriate increase in the thickness of concrete cover (≤ 3d) and the anchorage length can increase the bond strength of RAC. In addition, by concerning the relationship between the bond strength of RAC and CRCA/FRCA replacement rate, water-cement ratio, compressive strength, anchorage length, a formula was established. Based on the region block #1 of the first-period peninsula in Wenzhou tidal land, in-situ static load tests have been conducted on thin-wall tubular piles, bored piles and prestressed pipe piles. The results indicate that compared with bored piles and prestressed piles, thin-wall tubular piles are widely use in the foundation treatment of tidal flat soil due to its advantages of no sediment, high quality, weak pile driving effect, cost-saving, meeting the requirements of bearing capacity and settlement of pile top. In addition, no plugging happens during driving thin-wall tubular pile in tidal flat soil. The soil plug and cover plate on pile top have contribution to increase bearing capacity to some extent. At the same time, in order to increase bearing capacity, thin-wall tubular pile can be lengthened appropriately. Source

The bearing behavior of a new type of prestressed pipe pile with rib (the pile with rib for short) via ABAQUS finite element simulation and in-situ static load test. The comparison between the in-situ static load test of the pile with rib and the common pile with the same outer diameter (500 mm) shows that the ultimate bearing capacity of the piles with rib is 13.10% higher than that of the common piles. The influence of the pile parameters, including the thickness of the rib and the spacing between ribs, on the bearing capacity of the pile with rib is studied. Moreover, the design formula for bearing capacity of the pile with rib is suggested. The formula will provide an important reference for the large scale application of the new type of prestressed pipe pile with rib. Source

Based on pseudo - static test of rowlock wall with different constructional measures by MTS loading system, the position of initial crack, distribution of crack, cracking load, failure load and failure state were studied, in order to provide test basis for the determination of economical and effective construction measures for rowlock wall. The test results show that the cracking load and failure load of rowlock wall reinforced with constructional column and tie bar, or with constructional column and horizontal reinforced concrete band, are increased significantly compared with rowlock wall without reinforcement measure. The reinforced rowlock wall has better ductility, whereas rowlock walls without reinforcement measure show obvious brittleness. Source
