In this paper Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is used to determine the optimal bidding strategy in competitive auction market implementation. The deregulated power industry meets the challenges of increase their profits and also minimizing the associadted risks of the system. The market includes generating companies (Gencos) and large Consumers. The demand prediction of the system is determined by the neural network, which is trained by using the previous day demand dataset, the training process is achieved by the back propagation algorithm. Test results indicate that the proposed algorithm converge much faster and more reliable than Genetic Algorithm(GA). The ABC technique could be implemented in the MATLAB Platform. © Research India Publications. Source

In this investigation, the effects of magneto-hydrodynamics, heat generation and thermal radiation have been discussed on unsteady natural convection flow in a Brinkman porous medium saturated with a chemically reacting doubly stratified fluid. Initially, the flow is described through time-dependent differential equations. These are converted into a set of coupled non-dimensional differential equations. Crank-Nicolson type scheme is employed to analyze the solution of the model. In order to analyze the usefulness of the investigation the dimensionless local skin-friction, heat and mass transfer rates have been presented graphically for different combinations of flow governing parameters. © 2015 The Authors. In this paper, the influence of viscous dissipation and cross-diffusion effects on unsteady natural convective flow of an electrically conducting doubly stratified fluid in a Brinkman porous medium has been analyzed. By using the similarity transformations, the governing differential equations are expressed into a set of non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations along with the suitable boundary conditions. The Crank-Nicolson type scheme developed based on implicit finite difference method has been used to solve the reduced nonlinear boundary value problem. Numerical results for local skin-friction, local Nusselt number, and local Sherwood number profiles are depicted graphically and analyzed in detail for different physical parameters. © 2015 The Authors. The deregulated power industry meets the challenges of increase their profits and also minimize the associated risks of the system. Instead of this the demand of the system must be satisfied. This can be done by the optimum bidding strategies of the generating companies and the large consumers. Here we proposed a new hybrid technique with an aggregate demand model to develop the optimum bidding strategies. The demand prediction of the system has been determined by the Neural Network, which is trained by using the previous year demand dataset. The training process is achieved by the back propagation algorithm. The proposed hybrid technique is the combination of the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method. The ABC algorithm has three stages like employee bee, onlooker bee and scout bee. The third stage of the ABC algorithm i.e., the scout bee, uses the PSO technique. This could improve the fitness of the system, the maximized fitness is the optimal bidding strategy of the system. The other techniques like ABC and PSO fitness results also will be evaluated. The results for all the three techniques will be analyzed in this paper. The implementation of the proposed technique could be implemented in the MATLAB platform. © 2005 - 2013 JATIT & LLS. Speech improvement can be used as a filtering approach in most of the communication systems. Speech communication includes device, speaker and listener. Speech improvement technique based on the power spectrum subtraction, and the filtering is performed using partial differentiation method. This method ensures a high degree of utilization and control on the noise subtraction levels that minimizes artifacts in the speech, leading to improve speech quality. Speech improvement algorithms struggle to optimize the effectiveness of interactions systems if their input or output signals are corrupted by noise. Speech Improvement generally has three major objectives: (a) To improve the passive features namely high quality of the processed speech.(b) to optimize the speech coders which is severely affected by presence of noise; and (c) to maximize the precision of speech recognition solutions in lower than preferred locations. Proposed speech enhanced mechanism has three phases to filter noisy data. In the first phase, noise smoothing is performed to remove initial probable noise. In the second phase, constraint based threshold using EM approach is applied. Finally, logmmse is applied to enhance the noisy data. Experimental results show proposed enhanced method outperformed well in terms of noise and time are concerned. © Research India Publications Source
