In this paper, an approach to expert rules refinement within the framework of fuzzy relational calculus is proposed. The system of fuzzy rules can be rearranged as a collection of linguistic solutions of fuzzy relational equations using the composite system of fuzzy terms. Resolution of fuzzy relational equations guarantees the optimal number of fuzzy rules for each output fuzzy term and the optimal geometry of input fuzzy terms for each linguistic solution. © 2013 IEEE. A finite element model of an endoprosthetic joint is developed; the influence of the clearance, the ball diameter, and the load on the maximum contact stresses in the tribocouple is studied; the effect of the contact stresses on the wear of the joint components is studied; practical recommendations are advanced for selecting the dimension of joint parts in order to fabricate them to fit particular patients. © 2012 Allerton Press, Inc. A numerical model of flow in a duct formed by rectangular areas has been developed. By the method of steady-state solution a stationary flow in the duct with a cavity exposed to an external magnetic field was found. The influence of the conductivities of fluid and walls was investigated. The dependence of the flow parameters on the boundary conditions for pressure was investigated. The hydrodynamic stream function was calculated. The used algorithm SIMPLER necessary for interactive control of the solution process was analyzed. Source
