A new reagent o-chlorophenylazo-bis-acetoxime has been used for spectrophotometric determination of Ni (II). Nickel forms a 1:2 (Ni: R) ethanol soluble greenish yellow complex with the reagent. The working wavelength was taken at 370 nm (ε-2451) in the pH range 7.3-7.9. Beer's law obeyed between 0.117 - 0.939 ppm and Sandell's sensitivity is 23.09 ng/cm2. The values of log β found from the two different methods were 8.95 and 8.76, respectively. Interference of 24 diverse ions has been examined.

Antibacterial activities of four hydroxytriazenes namely 3-hydroxy-3-m-chlorophenyl-1-(4- sulphonamidophenyl)triazene, 3-hydroxy-3-n-propyl-1-(4-sulphonamidophenyl)triazene, 3-hydroxy-3-isopropyl-1- (4-sulphonamidophenyl) triazene, and 3-hydroxy-3-m-tolyl-1-p-chlorophenyltriazene and their ternary complexes with vanadium (V) using thiourea as second ligand have been screened against four bacterial strains viz.: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli at 100 and 200 ppm. Thus the study has brought about a novel application of this class of analytical reagents as an emerging class of bioactive chemicals. © 2015 RASĀYAN. All rights reserved.

Banking products are undergoing major changes due to extensive use of it and changing demands of the customers in current scenario. This study basically focuses on the changes came into banking industry and its impact on customers base and bank profits. Data is collected from 50 employees of both private and public sector banks with the help of questionnaire. Hence we can conclude that all banks are providing almost similar products and services to satisfy their customers fully. The continous metamorphsis of banking products not only results in improvement of customer base but also has positive impact on the profits of the bank. Private sector banks are earning more profits as a result of metamorphosis of traditional banking products in comparison to public sector bank. © 2015 Harshita B.

3-Hydroxy-3-n-propyl-1-(4-sulphonamidophenyl)triazene has been used for spectrophotometric determination of Nickel(II) at 400 nm, keeping the pH between 6.9 to 7.3. The Beer's law is obeyed in the range 1x10 5 to 6x 105 M. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity values are 6743 dm 3 mol1 cm1 and 8.61 ng cm 2, respectively. The Nickel (II) has been determined successfully even in presence of upto 100 ppm of various interfering cations and anions. The reagent forms complex with iron at ratio of 1:2. The composition of complex was determined by Job's method and Mole ratio method of Yoe and Jones. The value of log ? found from two different methods were 9.57 and 9.53 respectively.

In this work, substituted 2-bromo-1-phenylethanone compounds (1a-c) synthesized by reaction of bromine and various subtituted acetophenone. Compounds (1a-c) treated with thiosemicarbazide and several carbonyl species to gave corresponding substituted 4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole derivatives (2a-c to 6a-c) via multicomponent reaction and Hantzsch thiazole synthesis. All the synthesized compound tested for their antimicrobial activity.

Spectrophotometric determination of iron (III) has been done using p-Bromophenylazo-bis-acetoxime at 370nm, keeping the pH in the range 3.5-4.5. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity values are 1,030 dm3 mol-1 cm-1 and 54.22 ng cm -2, respectively. The Beer's law is obeyed in the range (1 to 6) x10-5 M. © 2014 RASĀYAN.
