Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) consists of sensor nodes where the nodes are communicated with each other. In WSNs, the best path can be determined based on packet forwarding and stability model. In previous work, it was not considered to balance data gathering and scheduling policy. This will lead to high overhead of the network. In this research work, Scheduling based Data Gathering Protocol (SDGP) based on CDMA technology. It consists of four phases. In first phase, the network model is defined in terms of Poisson model and assumptions have been made to improve the network lifetime. In second phase, cluster formation and cluster head election has been performed based on CDMA MAC scheduling. In third phase, data gathering is performed based on joint coding compression technique. In last phase, energy unbalancing is calculated in terms of data gathering rate. Energy balancing rate is determined depends in energy balancing and network topology. Based on simulation analysis, the proposed scheme achieves better performance than previous work in terms of packet delivery ratio, data gathering rate, packet loss rate, propagation delay, end to end delay, energy efficiency, communication overhead. © Research India Publications. Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and animal fats. The methyl ester of vegetable oils, known as biodiesel are becoming increasingly popular because of their low environmental impact and potential as a green alternative fuel for diesel engine and they would not require significant modification of existing engine hardware. At present, biodiesel is commercially produced from the refined edible vegetable oils such as Schleicher Oleosa seeds oil, etc. by alkaline-catalyzed esterification process. This process is not suitable for production of biodiesel from many unrefined non-edible vegetable oils because of their high acid value. Hence, a two-step esterification method is developed to produce biodiesel from high FFA vegetable oils. The biodiesel production method consists of acid-catalyzed (H2SO4) pretreatment followed by an alkaline-catalyzed (KOH) transesterification. Methyl ester of Schleicher Oleosa (SOME) is derived through estrification and transesterification process. Experimental investigations have been carried out to performance and emissions of single cylinder compression ignition engine at full throttling position of engine and different load conditions is used to different blends (20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%) of SOME in comparison to diesel fuel. The engine performance studies were conducted with engine setup. Parameters like brake power, brake fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency were calculated. The test result indicated that blend SOME have closer performance to diesel and however, its diesel blends showed reasonable efficiency andlower smoke. © Research India Publications. Source

Bacterial contamination of food products is a serious public health problem that creates high costs for the food-processing industry. Automated identification of pathogens using scatter patterns of bacterial is a promising technique that uses image processing and machine learning approaches to extract features from forward-scatter patterns. The feature vector used for this approach can consist of hundreds of features, and a sufficiently large number of training images is required for accurate classification. In this work we report the implementation of the laser-scatter-analysis technique on a computational grid. A set of more than 1000 images was used for training of classifiers. The invariant form of Zernike moments up to order 20, radial Chebyshev moments, and Haralick features were extracted. Linear discriminant analysis and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers were used for classification. Laser-scatter-analysis technique combined with computational grid technology offers a feasible and economic solution for rapid and accurate detection and classification of bacterial contamination. © 2014 Research India Publications. In day to day operation of cars, due to variation in loading conditions of the vehicle, the vehicle’s headlight has the tendency to move away from the focal point on the road. Switch positions for headlightare designed in a way to match with the people occupancy inside the vehicle. Manual switch positions in passenger cars are generally negligible or the driver has the tendency to forget the use of it. The testing standards for headlights [2] involve occupants weight a standard 75kg, knowing the combinations for occupant and switch positions, the switches are varied to bring back the light on road. To overcome the negligence of manual system, Automatic variation methods also do exist. This system deals with a replacement for manual switch position understanding the occupant combination and number of switch positions, could be an aftermarket product for feasible instalment of the device. © Research India Publications.
