A process for treatment of municipal wastewater plant sludge to the criteria of Class A biosolids. The process uses hydrogen peroxide and thermo-oxidation to reduce volatile suspended solids to meet the criteria. On a batch basis, waste activated sludge is introduced into a reactor; the concentration of the waste activated sludge is adjusted to about 1.5% total suspended solids with secondary effluent, if necessary; the reactor is mixed; the reactor is pre-heated to an operating temperature in a range of about 65 C. to about 90 C.; subsequently, a 50% solution of laboratory grade hydrogen peroxide is introduced into the bottom of the reactor; and the contents are heated for at least 4 hours.

The present invention provides an electronic apparatus, such as a lighting device comprised of light emitting diodes (LEDs) or a power generating apparatus comprising photovoltaic diodes, which may be created through a printing process, using a semiconductor or other substrate particle ink or suspension and using a lens particle ink or suspension. An exemplary apparatus comprises a base; at least one first conductor; a plurality of diodes coupled to the at least one first conductor; at least one second conductor coupled to the plurality of diodes; and a plurality of lenses suspended in a polymer deposited or attached over the diodes. The lenses and the suspending polymer have different indices of refraction. In some embodiments, the lenses and diodes are substantially spherical, and have a ratio of mean diameters or lengths between about 10:1 and 2:1. The diodes may be LEDs or photovoltaic diodes, and in some embodiments, have a junction formed at least partially as a hemispherical shell or cap.

The invention in at least one embodiment includes a method for providing a beat determination based on signals from a plurality of medical sensors in substantially real time, said method including: receiving in at least two analysis modules at least one signal (including an ECG signal and/or a pulse signal) from at least one medical sensor such that at least one analysis module receives one ECG signal and at least one analysis module receives one pulse signal; in each analysis module processing one signal through a plurality of detection algorithm modules to produce at least one quantitative decision, fusing the quantitative decisions together with a fusion module, and outputting at least one detected peak from the fusion module to an aggregation module; and producing from the aggregation module a series of detected peaks based on detected peaks received from the analysis modules. In a further embodiment, the detected peaks produced by the aggregation module are used to determine heart rate variability/complexity. At least one embodiment includes a system for performing any of the above methods.

A system and method for Multifractal-Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (MF-DFA) on digitized Human EEG signals is presented. A list of Hurst exponents, or Hurst exponent spectrum (h values) are generated, and multifractal singularity spectrum indices (D(h) values) produce a graph that approximates an inverted parabola. The output multifractal DFA spectrum is able to represent key features of the internal neuronal dynamics for the cortical neurons underlying the scalp-placed electrode which records the signals.
