The general purpose of the study is to evaluate the potential air quality and health risks associated with operations of an international airport, located in the west sideof Romania. Two monitoring stations were established near apron and equipment was set upto monitor volatile organic compounds (VOCs), fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PMIO), nitric oxides NO, N02 and NOx, carbon monoxide CO, ozone 03, sulphur dioxide S02, and other gaseous compounds (continuously measured by open path monitors), as well as wind speed and direction, traffic and aircraft activity. The paper presents the results obtained during the three-day continuous measurements and the correlation between air quality and the airport traffic. Source

This paper presents an analysis of the recursive systematic double-binary convolutional codes (RSDBC) and a performance criterion which can be used to establish their hierarchy. This hierarchy serves for the selection of high performance turbo-codes. The criterion already mentioned consists in the convergence of the corresponding iterative turbo decoding process. We investigated the families of codes of memory 2, 3, 4 and 5. The simulation results are presented in two manners: statistically for the entire set of codes and nominal for the best ones. © 2011 IEEE. Source
