Robust template design for cellular neural networks (CNNs) implementing an arbitrary Boolean function is currently an active research area. If the given Boolean function is linearly separable, a single robust uncoupled CNN can be designed preferably as a maximal margin classifier to implement the Boolean function. On the other hand, if the linearly separable Boolean function has a small geometric margin or the Boolean function is not linearly separable, a popular approach is to find a sequence of robust uncoupled CNNs implementing the given Boolean function. In the past research works using this approach, the control template parameters and thresholds are usually restricted to assume only a given finite set of integers. In this study, we try to remove this unnecessary restriction. NXOR- or XOR-based decomposition algorithm utilizing the soft margin and maximal margin support vector classifiers is proposed to design a sequence of robust templates implementing an arbitrary Boolean function. Several illustrative examples are simulated to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method by comparing our results with those produced by other decomposition methods with restricted weights. © 2016 The Natural Computing Applications Forum Source

In the future, Hotel of M-Commerce Service will be an important management trend and automobile application. Because of the increase in wireless cable speed and the fast development of automobile application, people can use diverse wireless equipment and automobile application to trade and exchange products, services, information and knowledge by M-Commerce Service. Previous research in M-service mainly established on the base of E-service. However, mobile network has different features and function with traditional network and consumers will estimate the service convenience depending on the environment and the setting. Therefore, this research combines the concept of automobile application APP with service convenience and use focused interview as the research method. For the focused interview, we invited 8 people, including APP technology experts, field directors and executives of chain hotel and scholars in related research field, to fully exchange opinions and perspectives on 'The process of inserting APP application to chain hotel'. After the discussion, a verbatim record was compiled from the outcome of the interview. For the service project mentioned in the verbatim record, we classify the items as the base of constructing the scale according to 'before check-in, ' 'during the stay, ' and 'after the stay.' Furthermore, the important factors of developing APP application are provided for related enterprises. © 2014 IEEE. Source

Science teachers frequently select science news articles as supplementary teaching materials; however, the literature indicates that students encounter difficulties in examining and evaluating the news content and textual elements. This paper reports an instructional strategy of utilizing science news articles and investigates its effectiveness in enhancing students' cognitive learning outcomes. In this quasi-experimental study, 118 seventh graders from four classes in one secondary school in Taiwan took part in the Science News Instruction (SNI). After eight weeks of instruction about Genetics and Reproduction, all students were requested to present their written arguments to the selected science news article. Two of the classes were prompted to link to their science content knowledge (the CK-SNI group, n=56), whereas their counterpart peers were not instructed to link to their science content knowledge (the SNI group, n=62). The analysis of students' written artifacts revealed that the CK-SNI group performed significantly better on examining the data and claims made in the science news, producing warrants of higher quality to support their reasoning about the relationship between data and claims, and providing better reasons to refute the identified causal textual elements. Furthermore, the results of ANCOVA indicate that the CK-SNI group outperformed the SNI group on the cognitive test, with the largest improvement at Apply level (ηp2=.10). We conclude that prompting students to examine news content based on the content knowledge they learned is effective in fostering students to evaluate the science news critically, and thus make a positive impact on students' cognitive learning. © 2013 IJESE.
