The socio-technological transition towards smart grids is an on-going process requiring adaptive behaviour by consumers. It is commonly assumed that consumer's attitudes and behaviours need to be modified to secure a sustainable energy future. This paper aims at exploring the influence of energy behaviours on smart grid processes, by contributing to the characterisation and systematisation of energy behaviours for specific segment of Croatian residential sector and proposing an integrative focus group methodology. Results show that participants have a positive predisposition towards smart technologies and home demand-side-management, but are less likely to accept automation system controlled by a supplier. We propose that smart grid designs must look beyond only the technology and recognise that a smart user who is actively engaged with energy is critical to much of what is proposed by demand-side-management. In the future, new innovative business models should be developed to explore different options to involve consumers to become smart users. © 2017 by the authors.


Various studies performed so far have not provided unique answers to the acoustic quality evaluation of the sound control rooms, as no influence of specific features of the respective sound control room have been taken into account. In a process described in this paper, all the specific features that these rooms have are taken into consideration and sound is evaluated by means of reproduction through high quality professional equipment. Also, a listening area is a small, exactly given place for optimal listening for sound control engineer.The optimal sound control room must provide a complete and clear perception of reproduced sound with all specific features, and the room's spatial characteristics may not influence nor change the characteristics of the reproduced sound. Conjoint Analisys method is used to obtain estimation of the impact of the room objective acoustic quality parameters on the subjective assessment of the professional sound control room. Thereby, the use of modern statistical method (Conjoint Analysis - CA) shows dependence of one subjective parameter on more than one objective parameter. This principle determines more accurately real-life conditions, where all ratings are subject to complex dependence on more objective parameters. © 2017, Strojarski Facultet. All rights reserved.


The issue of the optimal management of the traffic flow and the ensuring of an adequate number of parking spaces is present in the majority of highly developed urban areas of the European Union, including the Republic of Croatia. The formation of an adequate raster of the transport network, conditioned by the historical and existing buildings and areas is an extremely challenging task. Similarly, ensuring an adequate availability of free parking capacities in times of rush hours in the very centres of urban areas is also very demanding. However, what often occurs, even when adequate parking capacities are ensured, is a halt on the input and output terminals of parking lots and garage facilities that are derived by a disproportion of their capacities and traffic needs at a specific time. Precisely for that reason, this paper presents a potential model for determining of an optimal number of input service places (terminals) by using the queuing theory. © 2017, Strojarski Facultet. This paper discusses the possibilities of employing the process of the blended learning of professional English through the Moodle platform. It discusses different theoretical approaches to language learning implemented within the Moodle platform and the associated cognitive domains according to Bloom's taxonomy. The paper focuses on examining the Moodle activities within the language learning framework along with the levels of each activity within the cognitive domain. These activities are implemented at the University North within a wide range of courses covering English for Professional Purposes aimed at the engineering education. The paper can serve as a framework for the possible applications of different Moodle elements in the teaching of English for Professional Purposes. © 2017 Croatian Society MIPRO.
