The thiosemicarbazone derivatives were prepared by introducing new functions on triterpenic skeletons. The product hemisynthezised from latex of Moroccan endemic plant: Euphorbia officinarum, were obtained with good yield and high regioselectivity. Source

Aromatization, using Pd/C (10%) of (Z) and (E)-α-atlantones isolated from Cedrus atlantica essential oil, followed by condensation with thiosemicarbazide gave novel 1,3,4-thiadiazolic derivatives by the introduction of new functional groups on the terpenic skeletons. After aromatization and thiosemicarbazide condensation, all products were obtained in good yields to give thiadiazolic compounds bearing new spiro carbons. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Cerium dioxide containing materials have involved much interest in recent years owing to their broad range of applications in various fields. The most important property that makes ceria as an excellent catalytic material is its oxygen storage and release capacity via the ability of ceria to rapidly switch from Ce3+ to Ce4+ under reducing and oxidizing conditions, respectively.
