SoMeT 2013 - 12th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Software Methodologies, Tools and Techniques, Proceedings | Year: 2013

Inclusion of experimenting into way-of-working used by a team of designers facilitates increasing a degree of successfulness in designing of Software Intensive Systems (SIS). This paper presents a scientific approach to experiments the objects of which are units of designers' behavior aimed at solving the project tasks in conceptual designing. The offered approach is based on specifying the behavior units as precedents and pseudo-code programming the plans of experiments. Reasoning used by designers in experiments is registered in question-answer forms. Experimenting is being supported by a specialized toolkit. © 2013 IEEE.

The optical properties of a composite medium comprised of a transparent host and uniformly oriented prolate silver nanoparticles are investigated theoretically. The results demonstrate that it is possible to fabricate an ultrathin-film polarizer with high performance in transmission and reflection in the visible region of light. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.

It is theoretically shown that a thin composite slab comprised of a transparent host and uniformly oriented disc-like silver nanoparticles deposited onto a glass surface can act as an anti-reflection coating. The applicability of the effective-medium model for describing the optical properties of thin heterogeneous layers with moderate volume fraction of inclusions is verified using full-wave finite-element simulations. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.

The paper focuses on an approach that facilitates improving the management processes in solving the project tasks. The improvement can be achieved if Agile managerial mechanisms will be combined with the managing of human-computer interruptions when tasks are reflected on programmable queues. The offered combining opens the possibility for planned and situational interactions of the designer with queues of tasks in points of interruptions taking into account the evolving multitasking. Furthermore, the approach supports intellectual processing the reasons of interruptions for their more effective using. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

The paper deals with an unpredictable appearance of a new project task in real-time designing a system with the software. Usually, this occurs at a time when the designer works in a multitasking mode and other members of the designers’ team also work with delegated tasks. For regulating such activity, the use of the Agile management is not sufficient. In described case study, Agile means are combined with means of an interruption management which is adjusted on processing the interruption reason “New task”. In the processing of the new task, the designer applies a framework “model of precedent” and its iterative filling by content with using a figuratively semantic support. Combining the indicated means is implemented in the toolkit Own WIQA. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

The paper presents a question-answer approach to programming of designer activities during collaborative designing of software intensive systems. Efficiency of a conceptual work can be essentially increased if the human part of the work will be fulfilled as an execution of a special kind of programs by "intellectual processors" which use models of question-answer reasoning. Such approach was investigated and evolved till an instrumental system providing the pseudo-code programming of intellectual processors combined with computer processors. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

The paper presents a question-answer approach to programming of designers' activity in collaborative designing of software intensive systems. Efficiency of a conceptual work can be substantially increased if a human part of collaborative works will be fulfilled by designers in a form of an execution of programs written in a specialized pseudo-code language. Such programs simulate an experimental activity of designers investigating the own behavior in solution processes of project tasks. Acting similarly a scientist any designer will play a role named in the approach as "intellectual processor". Optics and Spectroscopy (English translation of Optika i Spektroskopiya) | Year: 2011

In terms of the effective medium approximation, the optical properties of heterogeneous composite materials with disordered nanosized metal inclusions of spheroidal shape with plasmon resonances lying in the visible spectral range are studied. The conditions are analyzed under which the optical characteristics of the composite with axial symmetry of the inclusion orientation distribution with respect to a certain preferential direction significantly depends on the electric field direction in the electromagnetic wave. It is shown that, in the vicinity of the plasmon resonance of inclusions, the composite layer of subwavelength thickness may exhibit a high polarization selectivity in both reflection and transmission with moderate absorption. The effect of the orientational disorder of inclusions on the optical characteristics of a polarization splitter of this kind is discussed. The predictions based on equations of quasi-electrostatic effective-medium model agree well with the results of exact numerical solution of the Maxwell equations. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Physica B: Condensed Matter | Year: 2010

Optical properties of a three-dimensional composite medium consisting of an amplifying matrix with inclusion of silver nanoparticles of various shapes are investigated theoretically. Behaviour of the amplification coefficient of active component required for compensating energy dissipation at metal inclusions is studied. Results of exact electrodynamical calculations of conditions for obtaining the unit refractive index and that performed using electrostatic approximation (Maxwell-Garnett approach) are compared. © 2010 Elsevier B.V.
