Effect of the mineral fertilizers use in the regulation of production process of soy against the background of variants of hydrothermal regime is strictly differentiated. Nitrogen fertilizers have a positive effect on seeds production of this plant with sufficient moistening, and phosphate fertilizers, in extreme conditions. The role of potash fertilizers in forming of this characteristic is usually indifferent. Along with this the diversity of responses of the soy plants is due to the interaction of function of trophic provision with the elements of mineral nutrition and regulatory function in the change of their ecological stability. © 2010 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. The paper analyzes humus profiles of mountain-chestnut soils of a complex catena situated within the Khemchik dry-steppe area of the Central Tuva Depression. The study has shown that humus profile characteristics are determined by both slope aspects and position in the catena. Humus profiles imprint all environmental changes of soil formation and functioning even if these changes are not expressed in soil morphology. The materials obtained during the study may serve as basis for long-term monitoring of slope soil behavior and for revealing local soil variability in changing environment. © 2010 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. The APETALA1 (AP1) gene of A. thaliana codes type II MADS protein with domains MADS, I, K, and C. The role of K- and C-domains in the functioning of AP1 protein is poorly investigated. The analysis of phenotypic manifestation of mutations disrupting the activity of various domains of the protein product allows one to obtain information on the function of domains and, thereby, on the structural-functional organization of the gene. We investigated the action of mutant alleles of the AP1 gene whose protein products are probably lacking the functionally active domains K (ap1-20), K- and C-domains (ap1-1 and ap1-6), and C-domain (ap1-3) on the flower morphology in abr mutant (the ABRUPTUS/PINOID gene allele). It was detected that, unlike the ap1-20 allele, the presence of ap1-3, ap1-6, and ap1-1 alleles results in reduction of a number of the generative organs in the flowers of the double mutants abr ap1-3, abr ap1-6, and abr ap1-1. It was suggested that C-domain of the AP1 protein prevents the alteration of determination of the type of reproductive organs when the AP1 gene ectropically expressed in the inner whorls of a flower in the abr mutant. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. A comparative study of metabolic and hormonal changes in the indigenous population of the Republic of Tyva (continental Siberia), males and females aged 19-21 years, during spring and autumn periods of the annual cycle, has shown some differences in the annual cycle of metabolic parameters compared to those of the high latitudes residents. There has been found a seasonal pattern of the need of metabolic processes' transition to the type of protein-fat metabolism in autumn and winter. Effectiveness of processes of activation of a protein-lipid exchange in autumn is closely connected with an increased stress response, characterized by amplification of stress hormone cortisol production and increased mental and emotional stress. © Northern State Medical University, Arkhangelsk.
