3GPP Long term evolution (LTE) wireless broadband is intended to provide higher data rates and throughput with less latency. Due to the channel impairments of the radio channel and higher order modulation techniques, the probabilities of errors are high. Using belief propagation algorithm both irregular and regular Low Density Parity Codes (LDPC) have showed to achieve rates close to the capacity on the other channels like Binary Symmetric channel (BSC) and Additive White Gaussian Noise Channel (AWGNC) with channel state information (CSI) available at both transmitter and receiver. Furthermore, Rate less codes is a class of codes without a predefined number of encoding symbols. Luby Transform (LT) code a class of rate less codes provides an efficient way to transfer information over erasure channels like Internet. In this paper, the performance of LDPC (irregular, regular) and LT codes are investigated and the results illustrate the performance gains of LT codes for Multi user Multiple Inputs and Multiple Outputs in combination with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system over LDPC codes with the Binary erasure channel (BEC). © 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a robust multiuser detection technique to combat multiple access interference (MAI) and impulsive noise for synchronous code-division multiple-access (CDMA) communication systems in the presence of signature uncertainties. A new M-estimator (modified Hampel) proposed to robustify the detector is studied and analyzed. The approach is corroborated with simulation results to evaluate the performance of the proposed robust multiuser detector in comparison with the linear decorrelating detector, Huber and Hampel estimator based detectors. Simulation results show that the new M-estimator based detector offers significant performance gain over the linear decorrelating detector, the Huber, and the Hampel estimator based detectors with little attendant increase in the computational complexity.

Thermodynamic functions using the coefficient of volume expansion (α) of a system, a number of thermoacoustic and anharmonic parameters such as the isochoric temperature coefficient of internal pressure (X), isochoric temperature coefficient of volume expansivity (X'), reduced compressibility (β∼), reduced volume (V∼), isothermal microscopic Gruneisen parameter (Λ), fractional free volume (f), and Sharma parameter (So) can be investigated. The temperature dependence of these parameters gives a basic understanding about the intermolecular interactions in general. These studies also can applied to a solute in dilute solutions. In the present study these different parameters have been determined using volumetric measurements in the case of a liquid crystal, namely, 4,4'-dibutoxy azoxy benzene (HPOAB), which is a typical liquid crystal with a nearly linear structure, in dilute solutions at different temperatures. Variations in various parameters with respect to temperature are discussed in the light of the results obtained. The variation of the properties is analyzed and discussed in this article. This paper presents a study on the performance of Maximal Ratio Combiner (MRC) diversity scheme over frequency-nonselective, slowly fading Nakagami-m multipath fading channel. Expressions for average bit error probability (BEP) during system outage are derived for M-ary Phase Shift Keying (PSK) coherent modulation scheme using the Chernoff bound and, simple and very tight bounds on Gaussian Q-function given by [1]. Expressions obtained are numerically evaluated to study the effect of fading parameter and diversity order. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

A novel approach for investigating the problem of both choosing the optimal location and size of shunt capacitors in three-phase unbalanced radial distribution network (URDN) for loss minimization has been presented in this paper. There are two parts in the main objective function formulated: One, the cost related to capacitor purchase, capacitor installation and the other, cost of energy loss. This paper addresses the problem of choosing optimal locations and sizes for shunt capacitors in unbalanced radial distribution network with two algorithms:One,the capacitor placement node identification algorithm for selecting the best locations of capacitor placement, and another the variational technique algorithm for the sizing of capacitors, as per the standard size availability of capacitors. The objective function used in this paper aims at maximizing the net savings in the unbalanced radial distribution network by optimal capacitor placement and sizing. The results obtained with the proposed methodology for 25-bus and IEEE 37-bus Unbalanced Radial Distribution networks demonstrate its applicability. The aim of the study is to develop a simple and direct approach for unbalanced radial distribution system three-phase load flow solution. The special topological characteristics of unbalanced radial distribution networks have been fully utilized to make the direct three phase load flow solution possible. Two developed matrices-the node-injection to line section-current matrix and the line section-current to node-voltage matrix -and a simple matrix multiplication are used to obtain the three phase load flow solution. Due to the distinctive solution techniques of the proposed method, the time-consuming Lower Upper decomposition and forward-backward substitution of the Jacobian matrix or admittance matrix required in the traditional load flow methods became not necessary. Therefore, the proposed method is observed as robust and time-efficient. Results obtained on 8 node and IEEE 13 node test systems demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. The proposed method has got good potential for the usage in distribution automation applications. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2010.

A novel approach of three-phase unbalanced radial power distribution systems (URDS) modeling for power flow calculations is presented in this paper. It solves a simple algebraic recursive expression of voltage magnitude and all the data are stored in vector form. The algorithm uses basic principles of circuit theory and can be easily implemented. Mutual coupling between the phases has been included in the mathematical model. The proposed algorithm has been tested on several practical unbalanced radial power distribution networks. The results obtained with the proposed methodology on the 8bus and IEEE 13bus unbalanced radial distribution systems are in agreement with that in the literature and show that the proposed model is valid and reliable. © JES 2010.
