When a snowplow is operating in the up or down direction, the sensor stops the movement automatically and the wire could be broken from an endless drive in the reverse direction impact or conversely winding wire. In the present study, a new bobbin was designed to ensure the durability of snowplows; in this design, the bobbin plays the role of a clutch during power transfer or idling. This will protect the blade of the snowplow during an impact and maintain close contact of the blade with the road. Therefore, the new technology to eliminate the tension and fatigue of the wire is suggested by winding a chain instead of the wire in the newly designed bobbin. From these, it was developed to extend the life of the snowplow without causing damages to the vehicle. © 2016 The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers.

A new structure is described to measure the residual strain of thin film of piezoelectric multi-layers. The spiral shaped structure consists of the four fixed-guided beams. Piezoelectric multilayers consisting of SiOx/Pt/PZT/Pt on SiNx substrate are used to evaluate the suggested structure. Finite element analysis predicts that the out-of-plane displacement of the spiral structure by residual stress depends linearly on the beam length, but there is little difference depending on the beam width. PZT is prepared by sol-gel method and multilayered spiral structures are released by microfabrication technique. Sensitivity analysis of the spiral structure with various layer stack shows that the high displacement of piezoelectric multilayers can be decreased by the application of SiOx layer with compressive stress over the piezoelectric multilayers. © 2012 The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

By using wireless mobile communications and mobile information terminals, Internet and the linking of computers and information technology to human bodies effectively, mobile computing can play an important role in modern technology that can be used by anybody anytime, anywhere, and can reconsider new technology with physiological measurements and reconstruct it creatively. In particular, mobile computing can intervene in the process of inducing biometric changes before diseased symptoms develop into diseases in an aging society. Nevertheless, there are difficulties, such as data, treatment by many parameters, ambiguity of data standardization and difficulty of the simultaneous collection of data etc. Therefore, in this study, a system was embodied by excluding time limiting factors using mobile computing and selecting the mobile neural dynamic coding method based on bioelectric signals. As a result of the experiment, it could be a model for biomedical Signal Mobile Analysis Devices and mobile biometric measuring devices, whose self-measurement can be made possible by an academic approach. Furthermore, it became the research foundation of the atypical characteristics of the formation of bioelectrical signals based on mobile applications and could be modeled in the structure circuit form of a biosignal. © 2014 National Taiwan University.

A smart phone subscriber needs wide bandwidth services for more fast data communication on the internet. The conventional MIMO system is now developing to resolve these problems with limited device space for antenna and frequency band environment reserved. One of a way to make it practically is to add the number of antennas theoretically. But it is difficult to increase the antenna element as a limited space on the system. Therefore an active beam forming scheme is known as a way of constructing a low power MIMO system for that. In this paper, the fast switching control block was suggested to adjust a reactance of the antenna element and verified experimentally the effects by switching signal on an orthogonal beam forming through a spatial domain. © 2014 IEEE.

Similarity measure design for discrete data group was proposed. Similarity measure design for continuous membership function was also carried out. Proposed similarity measures were designed based on fuzzy number and distance measure, and were proved. To calculate the degree of similarity of discrete data, relative degree between data and total distribution was obtained. Discrete data similarity measure was completed with combination of mentioned relative degrees. Power interconnected system with multi characteristics was considered to apply discrete similarity measure. Naturally, similarity measure was extended to multi-dimensional similarity measure case, and applied to bus clustering problem. © 2013 Central South University Press and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Background: In previous studies, psoriasis has been reported to be associated with metabolic syndrome. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate risk factors for metabolic syndrome in psoriasis patients and to compare the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in psoriasis and control groups. Methods: All patients (n=490) and controls (n=682) were investigated for cardiovascular risk factors, including central obesity, hypertension, fasting plasma glucose levels, and blood levels of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Results: We found no statistical association between psoriasis and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome when controlling for age and gender. Among individual components of metabolic syndrome, only increased triglyceride levels was significantly prevalent in patients psoriasis. The incidence of other factors such as central obesity, hypertension, fasting plasma glucose and HDL in the psoriasis group were similar to or lower than those in the control group. Although psoriasis patients with metabolic syndrome had severe and large plaque-type psoriasis, the association of metabolic syndrome with the severity or clinical subtype of psoriasis was not significant after adjusting for age and gender. Conclusion: Our results suggest that there is no close correlation between psoriasis and metabolic syndrome in Korean patients.

This paper describes how to design a Galois field GF(28)dividing circuit using double subfield transformation. The circuit is much faster and more efficient than the classical GF(28) divider . Multiplier circuit is used mainly for ECC encoding and for the Encripting machine while the Divider is used for ECC decoding and the Decripting machine. The divider in the paper is designed based on the GF(22) inversing circuit and we applied double subfield transformation. We compared the new design with the classical design in both respects, speed and cost so find the new design is much better than the classical design. © 2013 SERSC.

Multiplier circuit is a part of Divider and there is no inverse ROM for the dividing operation. The photoplethysmogram (PPG) is an extremely useful medical diagnostic tool. However, PPG signals are highly susceptible to motion artifacts. In this paper, we propose a cyclic moving average filter that use similarity of Photoplethysmogram. This filtering method has the average value of each samples through separating the cycle of PPG signal. If there are some motion artifacts in continuous PPG signal, disjoin the signal based on cycle. And then, we made these signals to have same cycle by coordinating the number of sample. After arrange these cycles in 2 dimension, we put the average value of each samples from starting till now. So, we can eliminate the motion artifacts without damaged PPG signal. © 2014 -IOS Press and the authors.

This paper proposes the face interface method which can be used in recognizing gamer's movements in the real world for application in the cyber space so that we could make three-dimensional space recognition motion-based game. The proposed algorithm is the new face recognition technology which incorporates the strengths of two existing algorithms, CBCH and CAMSHIFT and its validity has been proved through a series of experiments. Moreover, for the purpose of the interdisciplinary studies, concepts of advertising have been introduced into the three-dimensional motion-based game to look into the possible new beneficiary models for the game industry. This kind of attempt may be significant in that it tried to see if the advertising brand when placed in the game could play the role of the game item or quest. The proposed method can provide the basic references for developing motion-based game development. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
