The influence of different content of boron in solid solution on the mechanical properties of low carbon Nb-Ti-B steels of beam plate for automobile produced by FTSR was studied. The results show that the critical of boron in solid solution, which is helpful to increase the strength of the tested steel, is about 0 × 10-6 and the critical content of boron is about 6 × 10-6 for decreasing of the toughness. At the same time, an approximate formula to calculate the boron in solid solution is presented. Source

The hot rolling plate Q450NQR1 with high corrosion resistant for railway boxcar was developed by hot metal pre-treatment-120t top and bottom combined blown converter-LF refining-FTSC continuous casting machine-2R-5F mill-coiling with TMCP process. The results show that the microstructure of plate is ferrite-pearlite and grain size rating is 12, the yield strength and tensile strength are 509.2 MPa and 580 MPa, respectively. The impact absorbing energy at -40°C is about 170J, and corrosion resistant is very good, and the corrosion rate for 144h is decreased 33.33% compared with the Q345B. The production can meet the requirement of railway boxcar. Source
